The Authority of Scripture

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

The Authority of Scripture means that all the words in scripture are God’s words in such a way that to Disbelieve or Disobey Any Word of Scripture Is to Disbelieve or Disobey God.

I’ve got to teach you this Saints The only way to defeat Satan’s lies is with God’s truth. “Thus saith the Lord!” Whenever you see the Phrase “Thus saith the Lord” (it is the final answer to every question).

I don’t care who you are what you doing how it’s rolling what they said how it’s looking NONE OF THAT Because The Authority of Scripture means that all the words in scripture are God’s words in such a way that to Disbelieve or Disobey Any Word of Scripture Is to Disbelieve or Disobey God.

Listen to me brothers and sisters Evil men and deceivers are going to get worse and worse. They will deceive more and more. Why? Because they are being deceived by Satan!

In these last days, there will be more deception and imitation; and the only way a believer will be able to tell the truth from the false is by knowing the Word of God.

Here’s a relevant story There was a man who got out of his car to go to the grocery store and a mean old junk yard dog went to barking and growling and barking and growling and the woman said he don’t bite he’s just barking. The dog started barking louder and louder and she said shsss and the dog growled at the man more…

The woman said he don’t bite 3x she then put her hand over the dog’s mouth to calm him down and the dog bit her!!!! And the moral of the story is we keep saying ah he down bite 2x ah she down bite 3x but we know in our hearts that they been been biting people and getting away with it and some of us have been covering for that angry dog that been biting and can’t stop biting…

The bible says stay away from an angry man because he’ll drag you into all kinds of mischievous. When I was working at Valley Park each and everyday we the teachers were dealing with criminals.. They were children but criminals none the less. And the principal when she hired me said can you put your preacher man aside and deal with theses kind of children because saying that Jesus loves you baby stuff ain’t gonna cut it here…

You got to be hard with these children or they’ll run all over you… And I got hard quick… Because that angry dog doesn’t just bark he bites too if you let him.

And so when we have to deal with situations like that there needs to be a Change in Behavior .. Sanctification is a change of Behavior. Page 746

The formal definition to Sanctification is that Sanctification is a progressive work of God and man that makes us more and more free from sin and like Christ in our actual lives.

And where does Sanctification begin? I’ll tell you it begins with John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Being Born Again means that we’ve been Regenerated according to Jesus’ Doctrine. and that is Verily Verily I say unto you.. Stop 3x That means that whatever comes out of the mouth of God is Truth and must be done.. Jesus said that Being Born Again means to have Regeneration. Regeneration is a secret act of God in which He imparts new spiritual life to us and that means that your human will can not produce these kinds of results.

So God has to get you there… And once that secret act of God happens, God Himself imparts new spiritual life to us but that’s not all then comes in Sanctification.

And in short Sanctification is a change of Behavior. Page 746 The long version is that Sanctification is a progressive work of God and man that makes us more and more free from sin and like Christ in our actual lives.

And just like that raving growling and howling dirty dog you’ll know if a change actually happens because there will be evidence.

That we now walk in the newness of Life since Christ came into our lives… Other wise we’d be still out there trying to hold on to the things of the past.....Brothers and sisters with Sanctification is where a definite moral change occurs in our lives and it begins with Regeneration.… Turn to

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

Verse 7 talks about Justification and we’ll get to that in other lessons .

And so Paul is saying that by the washing of Regeneration and renewal in the Holy Spirit we cannot continue to sin, like it’s just my pattern of life, it’s just the way I am, and it’s just a habit I can’t break. No I don’t buy that!!! And some people need to be regenerated. They need to be recharged. They need to be revitalized. They need to be rejuvenated. They need to be reactivated . They need to be reinvigorated. They need to be reignited, and they need to be revived..

In other words they need to be Born Again 3x long before you ever see the evidence of Sanctification. Because Sanctification is a progressive work of God and man that makes us more and more free from sin and like Christ in our actual lives. Somebody read back to me what Sanctification is?

This first stage of Sanctification say to be washed and to be sanctified Turn to 1 Cor.6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

In this first stage of Sanctification it involves a definite break from the ruling powers and love for sin. And when this break happens the believer no longer is ruled or dominated or controlled by his/her sin and that means that they DON’T LOVE IT NO MO.

That‘s a real thing. The hardest endurance test for me was not the drinking itself… no no no it was loving the taste of it.…But once that taste is no longer there, once God takes that taste out of your mouth… Wait 3x Once Regeneration come which is that secret act of God in which He imparts new spiritual life to us Then you can be sanctified. Then you can have Sanctification which is a progressive work of God and man that makes us more and more free from sin and like Christ in our actual lives.

And it’s all about our free will. Nobody can make you act right . Nobody can make you act wrong But the bible says choose ye this day whom ye shall serve. Then Joshua said As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.

The bible says in 1 Cor. 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean that you ought to.

I don’t know about nobody else but one thing is sure for me Omit Just because the courts say I can put my hand against God’s Church doesn’t mean that I ought to… My name is Raymond Allen and I will never put my hands against GOD’S CHURCH AND OR HIS PREACHER CURSED IS ANYONE WHO DOES.

This is personal to me because I could not like you at all. but I’ll never raise my hand against God’s church. And when true Sanctification happens ( There will be a true Change in Behavior)

I have two Illustrations to drop in your lap In the book of Acts 9: Saul a well educated man an astute man, a well learned man, a student under Gamaliel one oof the smartest Rev DRs of the Law. Saul! He went against God’s Church and its people and God struck him down to the ground and blinded his eyes and he had to be lead to Ananias’ house and cared for..... Please don’t put your hand against God’s church. Then Please don’t put your hand against God preacher pastor prophet poiman priest or proclaimer. in 1 KINGS 13: 1 And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense. 2 And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee. 3 And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which the LORD hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out. 4 And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him. 5 The altar also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD. 6 And the king answered and said unto the man of God, Intreat now the face of the LORD thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God besought the LORD, and the king's hand was restored him again, and became as it was before. 7 And the king said unto the man of God, Come home with me, and refresh thyself, and I will give thee a reward. 8 And the man of God said unto the king, If thou wilt give me half thine house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place: 9 For so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest. 10 So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Bethel. Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm...Bad stuff happens when we refuse to let God’s word be God’s word.…

I was rebuked Sunday!! Yeah 3x I was rebuked by our THE WOAMN GIVING REFLECTIONS ANDOUR WOMEN’S DAY SPEAKER . And they didn’t know anything about it what I was thinking.…

One said you can’t tell God what to do. She said they might have done you wrong but vengeance is mine saith the Lord I will repay.

Then the other woman said repent of that evil you were planning to do and let God handle it… And God is right where you left Him at So go back and get him and then take the Lord with you everywhere you go.…

Listen Saints of God either the word is right or its wrong. either you’re going to follow it or you’re not…

And that’s for me and for you and it doesn’t change because The Authority of Scripture means that all the words in scripture are God’s words in such a way that to Disbelieve or Disobey Any Word of Scripture Is to Disbelieve or Disobey God.

Brothers and sisters Sanctification increases throughout our lives until we get to heaven Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

The lessons to learn from this is that Hebrews tell us that Sanctification was completed in the past . It happened in the past through what Jesus did for us on the cross at calvary.

But OT scripture revealed a need for continual sacrifices

Alright the term Sanctified in this Hebrew text is called Hagiazo in the Greek vernacular and Hagiazo means to purify to get ceremonially clean.

Look at Sanctification In the Bible from and Old Testament perspective, with the sprinkling with blood and other sacred rites In (Lev. 4:5–7, 16–18;

The word of God starts off with the priest… First of all God said Moses if the priest through ignorance messed up and sins,

here’s what he has too do, then here’s what the congregation has to do. Look at Lev. 4:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them: 3 If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering. 4 And he shall bring the bullock unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD; and shall lay his hand upon the bullock's head, and kill the bullock before the LORD. 5 And the priest that is anointed shall take of the bullock's blood, and bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation: 6 And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the LORD, before the vail of the sanctuary. 7 And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the LORD, which is in the tabernacle of the congregation; and shall pour all the blood of the bullock at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 8 And he shall take off from it all the fat of the bullock for the sin offering; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards, 9 And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away, 10 As it was taken off from the bullock of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of the burnt offering. 11 And the skin of the bullock, and all his flesh, with his head, and with his legs, and his inwards, and his dung, 12 Even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn him on the wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall he be burnt.

Then there is Num. 19:9–22) serve to sanctify persons places, and objects, That’s why in the good Samaritan story on the Jericho road that Jesus told said that the priest pass by the wounded man then the Levi passed by the wounded man because he was ceremonially unclean and it was against the law of God in the OT to touch any such person place or thing. Numbers 19:9-22

Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

The word for Sanctify in this text is Qādash Phonetic Pronunciation: kaw-dash’ Which is totally different from the other meaning of Sanctification because this is God Himself making his creation clean making His creation (ceremonial or morally appropriate):- This is God Himself making His creation consecrated, dedicated, hallowed, and holy. Qadash is kept, is prepare, is proclaim, is purified , and is sanctified by God Himself for Himself.

And once God establishes this standard for righteousness in Sanctification He passes it on to us Look at

Exod 13:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine. 3 And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten. 4 This day came ye out in the month Abib. 5 And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month. 6 Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the LORD. 7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters. 8 And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt. 9 And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD'S law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt. 10 Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his season from year to year.

The firstborn of beasts are set apart

Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.

Sanctify: to make holy or make more like Christ, by the work of the Holy Spirit.

And so we must consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus Turn to Romans 6:11-13 10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Don’t let sin have dominion over you. And that means in context to be set free from sin because you now have the power to overcome acts or patterns of sinful behavior. Because Sanctification is a change of my Behavior. Paul tells the Romans not to let sins reign in your mortal bodies and do not yield your members to sin as an instrument of wickedness. Paul says in verse 13 yield yourselves to God.. And the way we yield ourselves to God is by virtue the Power of the Holy Ghost and the Resurrected Power of the Life of Jesus Christ working in us. And that power will stop us from yielding to the temptations and enticements and devices and entrapments and wiles or tricks from the devil. The devil represents the sin that is in us. It has to be from the devil because the sins we commit does not come from God.

God ain’t made naha one of us sin. Sin is serious because if sin gets in the car. Sin will start off in the back seat then move up to the front seat then take over and drive and then sin will drive you straight to hell hollin kicking and screaming

And so Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. 15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. STOP

19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. 20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
