The fact of it is that when we follow Jesus, we will face opposition. Even in our American society, where it is painfully easy to be a Christian. To be clear, I believe our collective faith is likely much weaker because we do not face challenges. We don’t have to work at our faith and sin is even easier. We are floating down a lazy river where we have to do very little to survive, and the idea of thriving has become so corrupted that we choose the world’s version of what this means over what God says it is to live a rich life.
