Seeking Hope in Darkness

Matthew 9:27 NKJV
When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!”
Here: We have two blind men, in despair about their blindness, with a craving for healing.
Two blind men desperate for healing seek hope in Christ, and go after Him.
How
God can use our dark moments to to trigger a realization that an opportunity for His healing is right in front of us. When we’ve reached our low, we reach out for Him. He is looking for us to follow Him.
Seeking God’s mercy is seeking His blessing. “See the chaos that I am in Lord, and bless me to get me out of this pit.”
Matthew 9:28 NKJV
And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”
Here: The blind men meet Jesus, and He asks them about their belief.
There is a moment of meeting for men in darkness before God. We are all in this world grasping at things, trying to find our way around. But there is a moment in time where God confronts us in our darkness, where the condition of our heart cannot be hidden. There is a meeting place.
Salvation is about belief.
Acts 16:30–31 NKJV
And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

John 20:30–31 NKJV
And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
In our darkness, our beliefs are thoroughly exposed. When you are hurt, when you are frustrated, when you are angry, where do you go? Where do you put your trust? What do you believe?
Do you believe that you have an ability to get out of it? Then why haven’t you? We think we can do it. We think we can solve all of our problems. But it is in our weakness when we have the most strength, because we see the truth about reality: without a higher power, we are powerless. We need God’s touch in our lives. We need Him so we can see.
Matthew 9:30 NKJV
And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows it.

Matthew 9:29 NKJV
Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.”
These men in the darkness have miraculously found a way to the light. God is the light out of our darkness! And He rewards those who diligently seek Him! What is His reward? His touch, which opens our eyes. His love, which fills our hearts. His joy, which is pure and everlasting. His abundant life, which is the only life worth living. God is willing to touch and heal all who come to Him, and believe in Him, who believe that He is bigger than all your problems. He is the solution to any problem we face. No matter how big, He is bigger.
Matthew 9:30 NKJV
And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows it.
