It’s OK to have your own rules
Don’t condemn someone based on YOUR rules
All believers will give an account for their life
13 Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.
14 I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself, but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean.
15 For if your brother is grieved by what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. By what you eat, do not destroy the one for whom Christ died.
16 So do not let what you regard as good be spoken of as evil.
17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
18 Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.
19 So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.
20 Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for anyone to make another stumble by what he eats.
21 It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble.
22 The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment on himself for what he approves.
23 But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.
Love and Righteousness
Love and Righteousness
13—It’s not about what -I- CAN do
It’s about building up brothers and sisters
14-15— We are NOT talking about Moral Relativism (Your truth/My truth)
We must support “weaker” brothers and sisters with LOVE
16— Don’t provide a reason for someone to think your freedom is evil
17— We must be sure that our focus is on ETERNAL THINGS
18-19— Live “Love Forward” and pursue peace for MUTUAL UPBUILDING
20-21— It isn’t about “what you want, when you want”
You are indeed FREE IN CHRIST. Be WISE with your freedom
22-23— If you have to question the “acceptableness” of your own behavior, STOP and reflect.
Romans 10:14–15 “14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!””
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
