Transcript
To stand firmly on the Word of God, which has been given to us by God Himself. I believe the Bible is God’s Word which has been revealed to me. I will believe it and will be in it, growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus.
2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,”
To consistently pray for my brothers and sisters in the family which Christ has joined me to. I will pray for those with whom I am on this discipleship journey with.
Philippians 1:3–5 “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”
Philippians 1:9–11 “And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”
1 Thessalonians 5:17 “pray without ceasing,”
To love God with my heart, soul, and mind and to love my neighbor sacrificially and selflessly, realizing people’s greatest need is Jesus. I will let my love for God develop in me a love for others. I will be missional in my relationships and let all relationships be centered around Jesus.
Matthew 22:37–40 “And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.””
To faithfully attend Central Baptist on Sunday mornings, 747 on Wednesday nights, and all other mandatory events such as Life Group, D-Group, T2 Group, and Leadership Summits.
Ephesians 4:11–16 “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”
Hebrews 10:24–25 “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
To hold others accountable and allow others to hold me accountable. I will have the initiative to lovingly seek out a brother or sister in Christ who is persisting in a lifestyle of sin, has wronged another believer, or is in danger of abandoning the faith, seeking restoration to maintain unity in the body of Christ. I also agree to forgive those who wrong me, knowing I have been forgiven by Christ.
Matthew 18:15–17 ““If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.”
Luke 17:3–4 “Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.””
Galatians 6:1 “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.”
Ephesians 4:3 “eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
I agree to abstain from alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, marijuana, pills, and anything else that can cause an altered state of mind. I agree to not cohabitate or stay over at a girlfriend/boyfriend’s place overnight, nor will I engage in any sexually immoral activity. I will use technology wisely and in a manner that is holy. I agree to abstain from gambling/sports betting in all capacities (in person or online). If I fail in any of these areas, I agree to submit myself to church discipline when necessary.
1 Corinthians 6:12 ““All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.”
Ephesians 5:15–18 “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,”
1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
To make disciples realizing this requires the work of God himself along with the time and sacrifice of His people. We agree to strive to make disciples this year and raise leaders to the best of our ability.
Matthew 28:18–20 “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.””
