Good morning, and welcome to Sandy Springs First Baptist Church.
My name is Scott Davis, and I have the privilege of serving here as your pastor. For many of you, this may be your first time meeting me—and I want you to know how grateful I am that you’re here today.
Today is a special day—Homecoming Sunday—and it truly is a joy to see so many faces, both familiar and new. To those who are returning home, welcome back—we’ve been looking forward to this day. And to our guests and first-time visitors, you are not here by accident—you are our honored guests, and we are thankful you chose to worship with us today.
This church has a rich history of God’s faithfulness, and today we celebrate that. But we’re not just looking back—we’re looking forward with expectation to what God is continuing to do right here.
This morning, we are blessed to have a guest speaker bringing the message, and I believe God has something for each of us through His Word today.
So whether you’ve been here for years or this is your very first Sunday, our prayer is simple: that you would encounter the presence of the Lord in a real and powerful way.

Transition to Prayer

Let’s pray.
Father, we come before You this morning with grateful hearts.
Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness to this church through the years. For every life You’ve touched, every prayer You’ve answered, and every moment Your presence has filled this place—we give You glory.
God, I thank You for every person here today. For those who have come home, what a blessing it is to gather again. And for those visiting with us, Lord, I pray they would feel welcomed, loved, and drawn to You.
Father, as we enter into this time of worship, we ask that You would prepare our hearts. Set aside every distraction, every burden, and every concern—and help us to focus fully on You.
We pray for the message this morning. Anoint Your servant as he brings Your Word. Speak clearly, speak powerfully, and let Your truth take root in our hearts.
Holy Spirit, have freedom in this place today. Encourage those who are weary, strengthen those who are struggling, and draw those who are far from You.
And Lord, in everything that is said and done, may Jesus Christ be lifted high and glorified.
We love You, and we trust You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
