Message - A Praiseworthy Life

Proverbs 31:25–31 NASB95

25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future. 26 She opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. 27 She looks well to the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying: 29 “Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all.” 30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. 31 Give her the product of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates.

Her Honesty

She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind and she appreciated honesty in return. When I first came to Trinity I made the mistake of many young preachers, I thought people came to hear me. She let me know that the message didn’t need to be long.

Her Hospitality

Any visit received a warm welcome, and the offer of food or Dr. Pepper. She wanted people comfortable in church. She made you feel like a part of the family.

Her Heart

She loved others, she loved on my wife and kids in her way. She often spoke of her grandkids and great grandkids.

In Christ Jesus we have been given:

A Living Hope

We have been born again - it is the work of God!

It is a lively, living hope. An active hope! That occurs by God’s mercy through the resurrection.

Because HE LIVES!

A Lasting Inheritance

There is a picture of her out in the foyer in the church across the road. That church is no longer standing, but her inheritance lives on forever!

It is imperishable - it can’t can’t break down and is immortal. It will not pass away!

It is undefiled - there is no sense of pollution in it, it is unstained, untarnished.

It does not fade away.

A Securing Savior

We are kept by the power of God.

The word “kept” is guarded or protected. God has set a guard over you so that your salvation and your inheritance is secure!

This is the promise given to those who have received Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. Close with verses 6-9.
