Today we are still in Mark. After what we saw Jesus do on the Sabbath last week, we are going to discuss on this sabbath, this week him doing more of the same and how we can be exactly what we are called to do here. Be Doers and not just hearers of the word.

Immediate Need
Let me set the scene with what we have already learned about in mark. Jesus has come on to the scene and done a lot in a very short amount of time. He is healing, this sick, giving site to the blind, he is casting out demons that no one could cast out and they know his name when he calls them. Everywhere he goes great crowds follow him because they have heard of the power that is in him. It takes us back to the story of the exodus. Look at what Rehab, the harlot said when the spies from Israel came into her home Joshua 2:8-11
Before the spies lay down for the night, Rahab went up on the roof and said to them, “I know that the LORD has given you this land and that the fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who dwell in the land are melting in fear of you. For we have heard how the LORD dried up the waters of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites across the Jordan, whom you devoted to destruction. When we heard this, our hearts melted and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the LORD your God is God in the heavens above and on the earth below.
Now in this case of course the people don’t fear, but they do understand the power of God has come in the same sense.
Fun bible fact, some people say Jesus and Joshua have the same name in the Hebrew and they are almost right. Joshuas Original name was Hoshea which means salvation or he saves, but once Moses understanding the type and shadow of Christ that he was seeing that Joshua would be the one to lead them into the promise land, he changed his name to Joshua of Yehoshua which means Yahweh is Salvation or Yahweh saves.
Now when it comes to Christ his name is Yeshua which means He saves or He is salvation. Giving understanding that Christ is that visible Yahweh that came down from heaven to save all of us. Matthew 1:21
She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”
But anyways, The Messiah fame has gone throughout the nations, he is combating the false teachings of the scribes and the pharisees, and that angers this and the fact that and all are pressing to him angers them even more. Matthew 11:12
From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subject to violence, and the violent lay claim to it.
now to me a much better rendering of this that explains exactly what that means in simple wording. Comes from the Hebrew Gospel of Matthew Matthew 11:12 (Hebrew Gospel) “From the days of John the Baptist until this day - the kingdom of heaven is flashing forth in strength - and mighty men seize it.
So, since John the Baptist and when Jesus got on the scene, the kingdom is flashing forth, people can see that the kingdom of The Messiah is almost hear and they can see the power of that coming kingdom, so they are seizing the opportunity, they are pressing into the kingdom
This bring us to our text today. Mark 3:7-12
So Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea, accompanied by a large crowd from Galilee, Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, the region beyond the Jordan, and the vicinity of Tyre and Sidon. The large crowd came to Him when they heard what great things He was doing.
Jesus asked His disciples to have a boat ready for Him so that the crowd would not crush Him. For He had healed so many that all who had diseases were pressing forward to touch Him. And when the unclean spirits saw Him, they fell down before Him and cried out, “You are the Son of God!” But He warned them sternly not to make Him known.
People in this town and all over Judea and Galilee are trying to get to Christ. They want to be healed and they want to be saved. They have heard about this man who can take away sickness and disease. They have heard about his teaching of true repentance, turning away from those sins not just on the outside but on the inside in the heart. They have heard that he is more focused on the poor and the widows than he is about the temple and the high places of the scribes and the Pharisees. He is more focused on feeding the poor, not making sure the temple tax is paid. Luke 7:22
So He replied, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.
They see the true heart, the true mind and will of God on earth. The Messiah says this Luke 4:18–19
“The Spirit of the Lord is on Me,
because He has anointed Me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent Me to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to release the oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
The same as today people are hurting and they do not know what to do. They are sick and dead, not physically but in sin. They are addicted to Alcohol and drugs. They cannot stop the pornography; they cannot stop the fornication. They have been hurt so bad they don’t even know how to love themselves anymore. They are broken. The bills keep mounting up and they do not know who to call. They cannot see the light from the darkness. They want to love others, but don’t know how, they want to love themselves, but they don’t know how. They are in need of someone to save them from this body of death, they don’t need to be condemned they are already condemning themselves. They need grace and mercy and healing. They need the Messiah, they need Christ.
The Same back then the same now Luke 10:2
And He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest.
and these days beloved, when we say the harvest is plentiful, we do not mean just for Church, we mean for discipleship, we mean knowledge of The Messiah. This generation is beyond singing a song hearing a Jesus loves you message and going home. They want someone to truly lead them into a deeper relationship with Christ, they want to see a difference, not just play church, but how do I live, what about my life changes. What is different now that I accept Christ, they want to live that life that please Christ.
But how do we get there millions and millions need to hear a true Gospel, not a Gospel of Jesus loves you stay the same, but a gospel that Jesus loves you do you can change. A gospel that the Messiah preached Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Turn to Christ, change your ways and receive the gift of the holy spirt.
Now this is where the disciples come in. The Messiah was on earth, he was limited in the people that he can physically reach. He also know that he will not be here, on earth in the flesh for much longer so he commissions the disciples.
Then Jesus went up on the mountain and called for those He wanted, and they came to Him. He appointed twelve of them, whom He designated as apostles, to accompany Him, to be sent out to preach, and to have authority to drive out demons.
These are the twelve He appointed: Simon (whom He named Peter), James son of Zebedee and his brother John (whom He named Boanerges, meaning “Sons of Thunder”), Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus.
He sent them out with specific missions. To preach, that is to spread the gospel all throughout Judea and Galilee, and to have the authority to drive out demons. He commissioned these 12 to go out and to be his hands in feet in all of the Kingdom. He could reach more people by working and living through them then he would have be able to do on his own.
The same thing is true today, Christ can reach the broken hearted, he can change them, he can find them and save them. But they don’t know him. The introduction needs to be made. They can feel the power, but they do not know what they are feeling. This is why Paul went all over Asia minor and so did John, and according to Church history, This is why Peter ends up in Rome, this is why all the disciples spread out, Mark to Egypt, Andrew to Greece, Phillip to Turkey, Bartholomew to Armenia, Thomas to India, Matthew to Ethiopia, Thaddeus to Persia, to make the introduction to Christ. and once that introduction is made and Christ creates in them and new heart and sets their spirit upright in them, they need to be discipled, and they need a community a family around them. This is why Paul writes most of his letters, to Churches to born again believers to disciple them. This the why the Church send out Paul Barnabas, Silas and Judas to the Church in Antioch to disciple them. This is why James was in Jerusalem to disciple them, and this is why John and James and Jude and Peter all write their letters to disciple the people that have been introduced and have accepted Christ.
Behold, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.
Immediately Disciple
Immediately Disciple
But to do this you cannot be just a believer, you must be a Disciple. James 1:22-25
Be doers of the word, and not hearers only. Otherwise, you are deceiving yourselves. For anyone who hears the word but does not carry it out is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror, and after observing himself goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom, and continues to do so—not being a forgetful hearer, but an effective doer—he will be blessed in what he does.
We have to become Doers of the word, not just hearers.
Even in the great commission look what the Messiah says Matthew 28:19–20
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
He says I send you out to make disciples not to make converts, not to tell people they are loved and then just leave them, he says make disciples, but how to we know how to be a disciple, how to make disciples. Luke 6:40
A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.
The Messiah tells us that we are truly disciples when we live like him, when we become like him, the Apostle John tells us the same thing 1 John 2:3-6
By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments. If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him: Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked.
John makes it clear that we must walk in the commandments of God if we want to be disciples of Christ. We must walk just as the Messiah walks not just in the things that we like, not just in the things that feel right or Good to us but in everything
We must accept a Pronomian Messiah, a Pronomian Christ. and when we say Pronomian for the ones who don’t know we mean pro-law or Pro Torah
Immediately Accept a True Christ
Immediately Accept a True Christ
Christ did not come preaching a gospel that is easy to the Flesh. He did not come preaching a Gospel that did not require change or what that did not require obedience. He came preaching this gospel. Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. That word repent does not mean just say sorry and keep doing what you are doing, that works means to turn from that sin more importantly it means to have a change of Heart. It means that you understand what you are doing is wrong and saying that you actually want to change.
Here is what the Messiah actually came preaching Matthew 5:17–19
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them. For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
He tells us to do and to teach is commandments. Here are a couple
Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against any of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One. And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
You must not use dishonest measures of length, weight, or volume. You shall maintain honest scales and weights, an honest ephah, and an honest hin. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
You must not defraud your neighbor or rob him.
You must not withhold until morning the wages due a hired hand.
You must not defile your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will be prostituted and filled with depravity.
You must not lie with a man as with a woman; that is an abomination.
You must not go about spreading slander among your people.
You must not endanger the life of your neighbor. I am the LORD.
Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the LORD your God has commanded you.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say to them, ‘These are My appointed feasts, the feasts of the LORD that you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies.
For there will never cease to be poor in the land; that is why I am commanding you to open wide your hand to your brother and to the poor and needy in your land.
You must not mistreat any widow or orphan. If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to Me in distress, I will surely hear their cry.
Look at what you just heard. Honest scales. Pay your worker by sundown. Don't gossip. Care for the widow. This is the Christ we accept — not a Christ who came to delete this, but a Christ who came to write it on your heart.. All of these the Messiah said to keep and to teach, and this is the Messiah that you must accept. You cannot have Christ as your savior, but not your Lord. They go hand and hand. If you want to accept the salvation, that mean accepting a pronomian Messiah and what he taught all the rules that come with it. Not as a burden, not because you are forced to, but because you actually believe that Jesus is the best example of how to live, because you actually believe that he died not just to give you a get out of hell free card, but that he came to save you from sin. He came so that you can change. He came so that you can go from being hostile to God and his law, to being able in the spirit to submit to God and his law. So that you can be a true son of God. Christ came and bled and died and rose not so that you could say the same, but so that you could change. Change into a law abiding citizen of the Kingdom of God.

We are not a people, a body, a family that are lawless, that are without a standard, not only do we have a standard we have a perfect example of how that standard should be carried out and we should be an example of how to carry out that standard.
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
What is that light , of course we know the Messiah is the light
Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”
But why, what connection is the Messiah making here, if we have not studied our Old Testament the left half of our book we will miss it.
For this commandment is a lamp, this teaching is a light,
and the reproofs of discipline are the way to life,
The word there for teaching is Torah, the bible tells us that the torah, when properly taught and lived is a light. So, when the Messiah says that he is the light he is telling you that he is the living breathing walking embodiment of the Torah of the laws of God, and when you become is disciple and you submit to God and his law you become the same thing.
Let no one despise your youth, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
In everything, show yourself to be an example by doing good works. In your teaching show integrity, dignity,
Conduct yourselves with such honor among the Gentiles that, though they slander you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us.
Join one another in following my example, brothers, and carefully observe those who walk according to the pattern we set for you.
and of course the Messiah John 13:15
I have set you an example so that you should do as I have done for you.
But the only way you can do this is to submit to God and to his law.
The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the flesh cannot please God.
You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
We have to submit ourselves to God before we can be commissioned to preach to disciple, to the nations so that we can be aligned with the will of God and so that we can teach the people of God correctly and introduce them to the correct Christ. Because what happens if we don’t introduce them to the correct Christ, when we teach them a false Gospel, for one the apostle Paul says he are accursed. Galatians 1:8–9
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be under a curse! As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be under a curse!
and the Messiah tells us all you are doing is making devils Matthew 23:15
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You traverse land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.
You have to be careful to make sure that when we are sharing the gospel we are first submitted to a true Christ because we do not want to make lawless Nicolaitan believers. That is how we have gotten to the position that we are in right now. A position where a Christian on one side can’t say that you should stay whatever Gender God made you, and on the other side a Christian can’t say maybe we should be kicking 60-year-old women with Children born in this country out of the country. On one side the believer can't say abortion is wrong and on the other side the believer can’t say we do have a obligation as a society to take care of the needy. We have taught the portions of the Gospel that we agree with, the parts that we like and we have forgotten the rest. If it fits our world view perfect, if it doesn't we act like it does not exist.
As much as the bible does not teach love is love, as much as the bible does not teach abortion is okay full stop. The bible also does not teach pure capitalism, the bible teaches that you have an obligation not a choice to take care of the poor, the bible teaches that we should love peace not war, the bible teaches that we should sell what we have and give to the poor, the bible teaches a collective, the bible teaches that once a stranger comes among you and learns your ways and has children among you then he is to be treated as a native born. You cannot take the parts that you like and ignore the parts that you don’t.
You have to submit to God in every way. This is how you make disciples not of you, but of Christ 1 Corinthians 1:12–13
What I mean is this: Individuals among you are saying, “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” “I follow Cephas,” or “I follow Christ.”
Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized into the name of Paul?
Be submitted in every way.
Immediate Power
Immediate Power
This submission brings the power of the Sprit in you. But you cannot have the Spirit without the Life. Let me say that again you cannot have the spirit without the life.
A lot of us want to heal with the power of prayer. but you only pray in church you do not even pray at home. Do you answer the phone for somebody who only call when they want something? What makes you think God will. Every time he calls he needs $100 and to be honest he don’t even need to bye honest he just wants it. I ain’t even about to pick up the phone.
It gets even deeper with God, imagine the person who is calling you for the $100 is a drug addict and you know that he is going to use the money on drugs, it may kill him you would give him the money?
That's you, if God gave you the raise, you are going to be more liable because he knows you don’t pay your tithes and offering now, you don't help the poor and the needy now. If he gave you the power to heal you don’t have a heart for him all it would do is make you prideful and cause you to sin, if he gave you the authority you are looking for you would just use it to abuse people. If he gave you the follow you were looking for it would just lead to vanity. My brothers and sister these things are worse than drugs. Drugs can kill the body, but these things can kill the soul. Matthew 10:28
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
If you want the power, you have to have the lifestyle to match. You have to have the meekness to match the success, the giving sprit to match the wealth, the humbleness to match the authority. The prayer life to match the power. It does not come easy. You see the people with this anointing, but you don’t see their discipline, you don’t see those weeks they didn’t eat fasting to get to the feet of God, the nights the stayed up reading and praying and studying and crying, not even for the close relative, but for the world and the body of Christ at large. The look normal to you, but what they do to reach where they are is in no way normal. Are you willing to pay what it cost are you willing to bear that cup? You want the power of Christ without the life of Christ remeber what the sons of thunder , James and John and what they asked the Messiah, and what he answer was Matthew 20:20-23
Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus with her sons and knelt down to make a request of Him.
“What do you want?” He inquired.
She answered, “Declare that in Your kingdom one of these two sons of mine may sit at Your right hand, and the other at Your left.”
“You do not know what you are asking,” Jesus replied. “Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?”
“We can,” the brothers answered.
“You will indeed drink My cup,” Jesus said. “But to sit at My right or left is not Mine to grant. These seats belong to those for whom My Father has prepared them.”
He tells them that if they want that power if they want that position, if they want that seat, that have to be willing to bear, that up and they did, one exiled to Patmos, one stoned to death all for preaching the Gospel, did not living a lavish life of have much wealth, but they did have much treasure stored in heaven and you have the same choice before you. It will not be easy to bear this cup.
Immediately Bear The Cup
Immediately Bear The Cup
Then Jesus said to all of them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus:
Remember the word that I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they kept My word, they will keep yours as well.
For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His footsteps:
strengthening the souls of the disciples and encouraging them to continue in the faith. “We must endure many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.
The life that we are called to live will challenge you, it will change you, but it will better you. It will make your life full and bring you join on all occasions Philippians 4:10-13
Now I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this out of need, for I have learned to be content regardless of my circumstances. I know how to live humbly, and I know how to abound. I am accustomed to any and every situation—to being filled and being hungry, to having plenty and having need. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
Paul says that rather rich or poor, free or bond, he is content, he is happy in Christ, this is what the gospel brings you.
There is An NBA Player Jaden Ivey, He was drafted in 5th overall in 2022, mother is a former WMBA player. He worked his whole life to be a baskketball player and made it. Now fast forward early this year, He picked up his phone, went live on Instagram, and he started preaching. He called out the NBA — the league that signs his check — for celebrating Pride Month. He said the league is putting it on the billboards, putting it on the jerseys, putting it on the floor of the arena — and calling it pride. Calling it love. Calling it righteous. And he said no. He said the Bible already settled this. He read it back to them — Leviticus 18:22 — you must not lie with a man as with a woman; that is an abomination. He said homosexuality is sin. He said celebrating it is celebrating unrighteousness. He said it on his platform, on his phone, in front of millions, with his job on the line.
The very next day, the Chicago Bulls waived him. Conduct detrimental to the team. Cleaned out his locker. Done.
Now somebody might say, "Pastor, hold on — he still got his ten million dollars. Where's the cup?" Let me tell you where the cup is. He lost his team. He lost his standing. He lost the next contract that's not coming now. He lost the platform he spent his whole life building since he was a little boy bouncing a ball in his driveway. He lost being one of the guys in the league. He lost what he worked for his whole life. And what did the world give him back? A label. Controversial. Bigot. Hateful. Detrimental. His own profession printed it on the wire — his conduct was detrimental. For saying what was written in your Bible 3,500 years ago.
Now hear me — I'm not telling you every word he said on that livestream was perfectly placed. I'm not putting him on a pedestal. I'm telling you that in the year 2026, a young man stood up on the platform God gave him and named sin as sin — and within 24 hours that platform was taken from him. THAT is what bearing the cup looks like in your generation. That's not Rome. That's not Polycarp at the stake. That's the NBA. That's last month.
And the Messiah told you it would be like this. If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well. He didn't say maybe. He said WILL.
The prophet Isaiah said woe to those who call evil good and good evil. The world we live in does it on the front page every single day. They call sin pride. They call rebellion identity. They call confusion celebration. And the one man on the platform who looked at it and said no, that's sin — they took his platform from him before sundown.
So the question I have for you this morning is not do you agree with every word he said. The question is — when your moment comes, when your job is on the line, when your friends are on the line, when the world tells you to bow down and call sin righteousness — will you open your mouth? Or will you stay quiet and keep your seat?
and just like him You will take some losses remember the words of the Messiah. Matthew 10:34–36
Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn
‘a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
A man’s enemies will be the members
of his own household.’
you may lose family you may lose friends, you may lose jobs, you may lose wealth, but the story does not end there Mark 10:29–30
“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for My sake and for the gospel will fail to receive a hundredfold in the present age—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and fields, along with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.
You will lose some people, you may lose land and wealth, cars, homes, jobs, you will be persecuted, but you will gain it all back 100x in the world to come.
Immediately Willing
Immediately Willing
But the good news is you do not have to be perfect, we already have the perfect one, you just need to be willing. You need to be willing accept the Pronomian Messiah and his law you need to be willing to submit, you need to be wiling to learn his way, you need to be willing to give up your life, for the sake of your brothers lives. John 15:12-13
This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
You have to be willing to lay down your life, who you once were to become who Christ needs you to be so that you can help the kingdom spread.
Now if you are here or watching today and you do not feel like you have experienced that love, you have not been shown the example of what it feels like to have someone who will lay down their life both Physically and Spiritually for you.
I can introduce you today to a man who was seated at the righthand of Glory, Prime Minister of The Universe, but for me and for you he came down, born of the virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life for you ,lived as an example for you and taught for you for 30 years, lived among sinful men for you. He was mistreated by his own people for you, He was arrested for you, he was beaten for you, his friends deserted him for you, he was spit on for you, he was stripped naked and mocked for you, he was taken from trial to trial for you, he was made to carry his own cross for you, they put nails in his hands for you and they out nails in his feet for you, they gave him vinegar to drink for you, his mother watched for you, he died for you on that cross, they pierced his side and water and vinegar came out, they took him off that cross and they put him in a borrowed tomb, but thanks be to God that not the last thing he did for you, he stayed in that grave 3 days and 3 nights for you, BUT early Sunday morning he rose for you and before he died he told them something, he said If I be lifted up I will all men unto me, and the bible tells us that he got up with all power in his hands, he left and gave us the gift of the holy spirit and all he wants in return is for you to accept him, repent of your sins, receive the spirit, join the kingdom and go out and make more kingdom citizens. How will you respond?
