Make America Godly Again

Psalm 33:12 NKJV
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

Rededicate 250

From Freedom250.org / “On Sunday, May 17, 2026, the National Mall will be the scene of a historic gathering as Americans of every background across the country prepare for the nation’s 250th birthday with Scripture, testimony, prayer, and rededication of our country as One Nation to God. From morning fellowship in front of the U.S. Capitol to an evening filled with music anchored at the main stage on 12th Street, Rededicate 250 will be rooted in giving thanks for God’s presence in our national life throughout 250 years of American history and asking for his guidance for the next 250.”
Three Pillars of the Day
Pillar I: The Miracles that Made Us (God’s Providence throughout 250 years)
Pillar II: The Miracles Still in Our Midst: Personal testimonies of God healing in our lives and in our land.
Pillar III: A New Birth of Faith and Freedom: A collective expression of gratitude for 250 years of freedom—and a unified moment of rededication asking for God’s blessing, guidance, and grace for the next 250 years.

Make America Great Again?

If we want to “Make America Great Again”, we must understand what made America great in the beginning!
In 1831, French writer Alexis de Tocqueville came to the United States in search of the secret to its greatness. After traveling across the nation, he said: “I sought for the greatness of the United States in her commodious harbors, her ample rivers, her fertile fields, and boundless forests—and it was not there. I sought for it in her rich mines, her vast world commerce, her public school system, and in her institutions of higher learning— and it was not there. I looked for it in her democratic Congress and her matchless Constitution—and it was not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because America is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great!” [Source: America’s God and Country, William J. Federer]
The porridge of political correctness and wokeness that modern Americans have been spoon-fed is poisoned.
It was God who made America great in the beginning. He did so through our founding fathers, who sought to establish a nation that God could bless.
Our founding fathers were not religionists. They were not Atheists, Humanists, Social Imperialists, Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. They were Christians.
While tolerant of other religions, our nation's freedoms were secured by promoting the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Patrick Henry, an original member of the Continental Congress, said: “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason, people of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”
If we compromise on this one thing, we lose everything.

Make America GODLY Again!

When our founding fathers struggled to find agreement in establishing our Republic, Benjamin Franklin addressed the gathering, calling them to seek God for His help and assistance:
“Have we now forgotten that powerful Friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need his assistance? I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth---that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that ‘except the Lord build the House they labor in vain that builds it.’ I firmly believe this: and I also believe that without His concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel. I therefore beg leave to move--that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessings on our deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning before we proceed to business…”
America can become great again if America is willing to become godly again.

Repent, Return, Rededicate

Isaiah 55:6–7 NKJV
Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV
if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
The healing of America depends upon God’s people
Humbling themselves (Surrendering to Him)
Praying (Petitioning His help)
Seeking His face (Securing His favor and blessing)
We do not seek His “hand” but His “face”. It is not about seeking the gift but the Giver.
Turning from their wicked ways (Repenting of their sins)
God’s promise “IF” we do the above
He will HEAR from heaven.
He will FORGIVE our sins.
He will HEAL our land.
We must repent, return, and rededicate our lives to Him.
