What is wrong with me?

Judges 6:11–16 (ESV)
The Call of Gideon
11 Now the angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth at Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the winepress to hide it from the Midianites. 12 And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, “The Lord is with you, O mighty man of valor.” 13 And Gideon said to him, “Please, my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all his wonderful deeds that our fathers recounted to us, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and given us into the hand of Midian.” 14 And the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours and save Israel from the hand of Midian; do not I send you?” 15 And he said to him, “Please, Lord, how can I save Israel? Behold, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” 16 And the Lord said to him, “But I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man.”
25 That night the Lord said to him, “Take your father’s bull, and the second bull seven years old, and pull down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the Asherah that is beside it 26 and build an altar to the Lord your God on the top of the stronghold here, with stones laid in due order. Then take the second bull and offer it as a burnt offering with the wood of the Asherah that you shall cut down.” 27 So Gideon took ten men of his servants and did as the Lord had told him. But because he was too afraid of his family and the men of the town to do it by day, he did it by night.

And the angel of the LORD appeared to him and said to him, “The LORD is with you, O mighty man of valor.”

In the midst of oppression God is with us
He has never left us
God hasn’t abandoned you
Psalm 34:18 ESV
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
Gideon at this point was anything but a mighty Man of Valor
He was hiding
Why did the angel call him a mighty man of valor?

it probably reflected Gideon’s potentiality through divine enablement

God spoke over Gideon’s life
It wasn’t about
How Gideon felt
or what the situation looked like
It was about
What God had Spoken over
his life
and the current situation
You might not Feel it now
but what has God spoken?
Don’t Judge your life based on others thought
what Does God speak over your life

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Wonderful are your works;

my soul knows it very well.

9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

God Speaks over your life
and tho you might not see it now
God is working
God is moving
God is changing you
You have potentiality through Divine enablement
Judges 6:13 ESV
And Gideon said to him, “Please, my lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all his wonderful deeds that our fathers recounted to us, saying, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the LORD has forsaken us and given us into the hand of Midian.”
Where are you God?
Things in life go wrong
hurts happen
broken people
situations´™s make us lose sight of God
we lose sight of what God is doing
we question like Gideon
where are you God?
He even goes to the point of saying
“the Lord has forsaken us”

And the LORD said to him, “But I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man.”

Our Doubts don’t Change God
just because we doubt or we get discouraged
it Doesn’t change who God is
or what God has said

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Since we have this example- the cloud of witnesses
it is the examples in the bible
the life of Gideon it a witness to us
that God can take a
insecure
weak
low self-esteem
Looked down upon man
and use him to bring God glory
God can do the same thing in your life
he takes our brokenness
our sin
our regret
our doubts
our low self-esteem
But We need to fix our eyes on Jesus
He is the one doing the work in us
when the storms come again
We fix our eyes on Jesus
When we feel like we are failure and we just keep falling into the same sin
We fix our eyes on Jesus
Jesus is the founder and the perfecter

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Gideon had to be reminded of this
God is doing something
the world told Gideon he was nothing
he was useless
he was no good
The situation said
Where is your God?
God has Forsaken you
Everything is lose
But God saw who Gideon truly was
The African Proverb of the farmer and the Eagle
the Lion King
“You are more then what you have become!”
