One thing called you who kept Sean in your prayers this past week, we got to, as going to do this, we could have gotten about the middle of the week. None of our major fears came to pass. They didn't find any answers. And so he started his third round with the GI doctor so they'll keep hunting and keep looking, but thanks for at least an hour or better. And so I certainly appreciate that.

When Terry was expecting Sean, we went to that process of choosing names has all parents do and we came up with this ingenious idea, if we're going to name and what we wanted to and call them by their middle names and because Sean was a boy. We named him, Christopher Sean and we call him and our second child off in the future was going to be named Kelly was the girl in the Megyn Kelly. It was a boy, be Jonathan Kelly show for kids with Sean and Kelly. Not even we had a great time with it until he began to notice if there were a lot more girl, Kelly's the boy Kelly Yeah, I could go to school there, be a girl's name. I want a boy's name and also I'm going to change my name to Jonathan Willie tried that, what he's about, 9 years old and it works. Okay. But it's real hard to change your name around people, you know. Well you know people at church doing this a certain boy as a certain name people school then with a certain name. So when he was twelve he went on a classic soccer team at Edmond and he said okay this is my chance cuz none of these guys know me. So I'm going to be Jonathan and we're going to make the break right here and right now. So that's how he introduced himself to everybody on the team. Everybody associated with the team and it was a really good idea, except for the fact, He didn't answer to that name.

When they were yelling.

Even the coaches didn't know about Jonathan still there.

Finally, one time. Just stood up and she said, Kelly.

As she pointed to the coach, it was trying to get his attention and that became their routine over the rest of that. Opening up that opening for a soccer mom, would call his name and then pass them off to the coach one. Saturday. Carrie was able to go to the game, no problem. I'll just do it. Did more for Dad. It did not work for me.

And from that time on. I've called that the voice above the crowd. And this morning on a belated, Mother's Day. I want to try to remind you again about this incredible voice. That God has given. Mother's is incredible. Blessing. This voice of influence that literally Echoes through decades and generations and centuries, even as we're gathered here today. The power of the voice of mom is pretty incredible. By the third trimester of pregnancy. They researchers believe that the baby can hear. And here especially mom's voice from the natural environment. But also through sound waves in the body and so by the time the baby is born. They already have a pretty strong connection there, looking for that. Same boys. For soothing and comforting, you know, it's just a multitude of things, and it's not just a psychological or emotional thing. Researchers have discovered that mothers. Boys can stimulate oxygen. It also stipulates dopamine and serotonin are, you can reduce the utilization of cortisol. Stress is reducing the child. So, when you hear things about Mama's lullaby, it's not just an emotional week It has other parameters here when that Mom is soothing and comforting and singing and making that child feel loved, there's actual things that are taking place there and it's been any of you get a test this morning that boys can. And often does remain extremely powerful as a significant measure throughout the entire life. About individual. In 1st Timothy 62nd to meet you at 41 verse 5. Paul says of Timothy. I'm reminded of your sincere face which first live in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and I and I am persuaded now lives in you. Also what happened to Timothy? We got double teams, you got double team by Mom and Grandma. My children got TT by Mom and grandmother. I don't have any of you today, were double team. Somebody from, for triple team to quadruple. You got in a Godly aunts and uncles and people who were these significant voices in your life and it's important that when we hear things in the world that there's confirmation or other pieces of information, And Mom has this incredible power there. The Hand That Rocks, the Cradle is the hand the rules. The world people have used that. To kind of be. Women need to go back to being at home, and that's something that's not what that statement is about a tall and this morning, as I share it, I'm not sharing it in that context. Sharing in the context of, don't forget the influence, don't forget the power. That mothers have mothers can do great things in this life, and in the corporate world, and legal world, all those kind of places. But remember that God has given you this connection mother, your kids are five or whether they're 55 are still elements of that. Voice above the crowd, that continue to be there. Does wisdom have a gender?

Verse Proverbs, chapter 8, verse 20 says open the window. Wisdom calls out the open window. Wisdom calls allowed she raises her voice in the Public Square. And if you give a facet, I mean a close attention to the first 9 chapters of Proverbs. You'll see that over and over wisdom is referred to as feminine. It also happens in.

Who's the guy that had to do all the first? The old guy watches terrible. I hate it when this happened, but somehow got in this place, where we fixed up wisdom, it doesn't have a gender. In Proverbs chapter 1 verses 2021 out in the open wisdom calls, allowed, she raises her voice in the Public Square on the top of the wall. She cries out at The City Gate. She makes her speech. Just a quiet little whispering. That sounds pretty public. Starting in verse one does not wisdom, call out this understanding. Raise her voice at the highest point along the way with a past meet. She takes her stand beside, the gate leading into the city at the entrance, she cries aloud to position herself. Most problems place Top things to say. she knows things because of life and in a lot of people with scripture, A picture of here, just a couple minutes ago about the lady wisdom. That's kind of a is only one version that actually refers to her as a lady of wisdom. There are other verses that refer to Lady of Polly as they contradict our favorite pair to each other. But we're thinking about what men would call the this lady's wisdom. Where does it come from?

Last week and kind of an emergency situation. I talked about Bathsheba and really, as I put this is stuff together. I was like, when you talk about this voice, where's the voice in Solomon's life, Elizabeth? And so much of this wisdom that he's giving us transferring to us. He's really actually, crediting a female boys, a feminine voice, which very likely is, of course, pass Shiba. And then, as we mentioned last week, the sayings of Kingdom you will and inspired out of runs his mother taught him. Think about it for a minute. David is the song list. And he's quoting Bathsheba. She has a powerful voice, she has lots of wisdom. Some would say that, what the Solomon trying to get us to understand here is that this is a personification of God's wisdom, the application, the demonstration if you will. And if so what a powerful statement that is not just a voice, who hears this information. This is the boys that lives that information and probably many of you when you think of your grandmother's, are you think of your mom, you think of her? In the context of, here's this person who's living life that God wanted her to live and I and others have benefited. Through that process. Now, the hard part is moms aren't Flawless and probably everybody here. Can think of a time when Mom said something that would have been better off, not sit this voice above the crowd, I told you this before. When when I was in sixth grade, they were starting an orchestra. And so I wanted to be an orchestra me when up there you looked at all the instruments. You picked out the one you want to go to your parents and they paid for it. I took my mother a violin put that up. You don't have the ear for violin and so it did that is staying in my head this whole time. You know it's part of the tape that's there now. She is right, but I don't like to go to that emotional part of it.

Mom's remember how much power you have, and how much influence you have at least a bizarre are going to last for a long time. And I don't have any doubt that there are people gathered here today. Who are playing some tapes in their minds that are not helpful and they're not beneficial and they can actually be quite disturbing. And so we had to be the people who share not perfect, and some people are deeply wounded and deeply scarred. Some of those scars and wounds are passed on to their families.

In this world, in this life, in this time, they're going to be

Competing voices. You know if there's an old story told in Guthrie and I look this story up and I could not find it to be true, but there are some Old-Timers in there. Who will swear to you that on the day of the land run, there was a mother and a son who decided that they didn't just want one piece of land they wanted to pieces. And so they had kind of math, do place that we're going to go and so they were in a wagon together. The mom was going to be able to slow down to Mom's going to jump out of the way, it kind of roll out of the wagon. And then the sun, we go on to the next piece of property. The sun was never seen again. He's abandoned his mom, humble and run. And so this morning, as you're sitting here, you could probably think something's my mom did to me. I wish I didn't have to but I didn't have to make a choice on my land run. We can be too harsh but there's 3 lb there and I certainly know the hard decisions that have to be made. In relation to that. Voices that can damage. And as you think about your own voice today, you know, it's the opportunity to speak at the opportunity to connect at the opportunity to sue them power of not give up. I told you about Loretta Franco, they guess we every time where kids came to their house, that has Christmas, give me some verses. I want to be telling versus and I would always say, why don't you just enjoy the good time together? Positive things are growing up to be the last time I ever see him I want versus. And so, she get her list of verses and should fire him at them. And then a couple years later she came and said they're not coming this year. That's why. She was over imprecise and she was trying to backtrack you was trying to catch up on things that maybe you should have been earlier done in the end. They weren't. And so in her concern and it's our love. She got to the point where she was trying hard, trying to move too fast but your voice. Is a powerful voice. Your voice is approval. You're both voice of Disapproval your voice of concern, your voice of praise. Hear that voice your children, respond to the leadership. That's our boys. Has inherent Lee. Yeah, Mom's going to hurt. In Jeremiah chapter 31. Work 15 through 16. This is what the Lord says. I've always heard in Ramah pouring and great weeping. Rachel leaving for her children and confused and refusing to be comforted because they are no more. That of course is a absolute reference to what heroin does to the baby boys in Judea, but the experience of mom is sometimes painful. So that's hurtful, but the rest is even illness. There are things in that process that make it difficult and hard. This is what the Lord said, the boys can. The passage continues restrain, your voice from weeping, your eyes from tears, for your work, will be rewarded declares the Lord and then They will return. From the land of the enemy. Incredible promise. Big dog. Puts their I talked with Sherry Matthews about a week ago and they had been at the state track tournament. I can say this and can be performed very well. You might want to talk to her about that after there was over today, but Shay filmed Tell me the racist and the neatest part about it is not see the race, but it's hearing her voice of, you know, giving encouragement and parking and it is Hebrews 12:1. It says therefore, we are surrounded by such a great, cloud of witnesses. Let us throw up everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. There is a great cloud of witnesses. Who are those Witnesses overwhelming? You know, that list and we're like, I don't think I want them watching my race. But you know, there are people who love you, we care about you. I think you're part of that crowd to I would really believe that our moms are watching us as we try to complete this race as we try to complete, but God has given us and asked us to do. Which area was in her thirties. she had to be hospitalized for several days and they were doing tests and Every afternoon, Joyce. We come to the hospital and when Carrie got home, she said, I could actually hear laklak of moms heel high heels in the hospital hallway. I wish I would pick up a think that's. I think that's why I think as I got closer. Yeah, that's fine. I'm pretty soon then. Stop.

And she had that soothe. Comforted feeling the moms, have the ability to share and give and provide. Would you play with me? Your God, our Father in heaven. We thank you so much for mothers. We thank you for what you've been power. Them with the gifts, you've given them. We look around us and we see people who are using your gifts in marvelous ways, and we thank you for that father. We thank you for the children that they leave, but thank you for the voices. If they sit here while, there's always a challenge to and there are times when we need extra help, help from your wisdom, help from your advice, help from your direction, maybe help from others who can strengthen us and give us the pages to continue. Father, we thank you for that. We pray that we might reach out when those things happen. Bother. We're grateful. We're thankful. We know that you put Mom's here to help us be the people. You want us to be and we ask you to bless us and help us in that process. We pray that to your son.

I wanted to be more practical today, it's up at the next week. This is actually a three-week Mother's Day sermon about. So hang in there. Just a little bit longer. We're going to and if you want or need or desire to respond to that would encourage you to do it right now. We stay the same together.
