The Mind of Christ
To be free from mental captivity, a believer must not only break strongholds... they must receive a new mind.
The Bible calls this “the mind of Christ.” “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:5
The mind of Christ is the highest level of mental freedom.
It is a mind governed by:
• truth
• peace
• stability
• purity
• faith
• clarity
• humility
• confidence
• obedience
• wisdom
• discernment
• spiritual strength
This is the opposite of a mind shaped by fear, trauma, confusion or emotional instability.
What Is the Mind of Christ?
The mind of Christ is a spiritual mind empowered by the Holy Spirit, enabling you to:
• think God’s thoughts
• feel God’s heart
• choose God’s will
• perceive spiritual truth
• walk in peace
• reject lies
• silence the enemy
• respond with wisdom
• discern spirits
• remain steady in storms
Paul explains: “We have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:16
This is not metaphorical...
it is a spiritual reality available to every believer.
How Jesus Used His Mind
Jesus walked the earth with complete mental mastery...
not because He lacked battles,
but because He remained anchored in the Father.
His Mind Was Anchored in Peace
Even in storms, His mind stayed calm. “Peace, be still.” (Mark 4:39)
His Mind Discerned Spirits
He knew what was behind situations (Matthew 16:23).
His Mind Rejected Every Lie of Satan
When tempted, He answered with scripture (Matthew 4).
His Mind Operated in Obedience
“Not My will but Yours be done.” (Luke 22:42)
His Mind Was Compassionate
He could perceive the brokenness in people.
His Mind Was Stable
He was never controlled by fear, panic or confusion.
To think like Christ is to walk mentally above the storms around you.
The Mind of Christ vs. the Captive Mind
Below is a clear comparison:
Captive Mind; Mind of Christ
Fear - Peace,
Confusion - Clarity
Overthinking - Trust
Torment - Rest
Double-mindedness - Stability
Trauma patterns - Truth patterns
Emotional reactivity - Holy Spirit response
Rehearsing pain - Remembering God’s Word
Self-reliance God-dependence ON SELF
Lies - Revelation
The mind of Christ is not fragile.
It is not unstable.
It is not chaotic.
It is not tormented.
It is solid, anchored and unshaken.
The Holy Spirit... Your Mind’s Teacher
Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would guide your mind:
“He will teach you all things.” John 14:26
The Holy Spirit:
• corrects wrong thinking
• convicts where necessary
• reveals truth
• brings scriptures alive
• silences fear
• gives wisdom
• aligns your emotions
• protects your mind from deception
A mind without the Spirit becomes vulnerable.
A mind filled with the Spirit becomes unbreakable.
The Renewed Mind:
How Transformation Happens
Romans 12:2 explains the process:
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
Transformation is NOT:
• trying harder
• thinking positively
• suppressing emotions
• avoiding problems
Transformation is:
• replacing lies with truth
• healing wounds with God’s presence
• surrendering thoughts daily
• allowing the Spirit to govern your thinking
• embracing scripture as final authority
Renewal is not instant... it is continual.
Every day, your mind must be washed by:
• the Word
• worship
• prayer
• truth
• surrender
This washing, cleans out old mental patterns.
The Mind of Christ Breaks Every Mental Captivity
a) It Breaks Fear
Christ’s mind is anchored in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3).
b) It Breaks Shame
Christ knew His identity... and He gives you the same assurance.
c) It Breaks Confusion
Christ operated with divine clarity and discernment.
d) It Breaks Double-Mindedness
Christ walked in absolute obedience and confidence.
e) It Breaks Rejection
Christ was rooted in the Father’s love.
f) It Breaks Traumatic Patterns
Christ’s mind was not shaped by earthly wounds... it was shaped by heavenly truth.
When His mind becomes your mind, old patterns lose their grip.

KEEP YOUR PEN AND PAPER READY PLEASE.
WORSHIP IS OUR WEAPON IN WARFARE!
On the outside, you are holding things together… but inside, you feel the weight of everything at once.
Maybe you are carrying financial pressure, watching debt pile up despite your efforts.
Maybe you are fighting an illness that has stretched your strength and your faith.
Maybe you have been praying consistently, faithfully… for years and you still have not seen the answers you believed God gave you.
And if you are honest, there are questions rising in your heart…
“God, do You really hear me?”
“Was that You who spoke to me… or did I get it wrong?”
“Why did I obey if it would end like this?”
You might even feel disappointed… or confused… or quietly frustrated with God in ways you never thought you would be.
Maybe you stepped out in obedience, believing He was leading you, but what you are living now does not look anything like what you expected.
Maybe your heart is carrying the weight of a relationship breaking, a marriage under strain or a situation so complex that you don’t even know how to explain it to anyone.
There are things you are going through that don’t have easy words.
Maybe you feel stuck in patterns you have tried to break.
Maybe grief has found you again and this time it feels heavier… like “I don’t know if I can walk through this one.”
Maybe it feels like every time you come out of one battle, another one begins.
And now it no longer feels like a season… it feels like a pattern.
You have been through storms before.
You have walked through fire before.
You have endured desert seasons before.
But this time… it feels different.
Because when you have said yes to God… when you have carried the weight of obedience, of consecration, of the calling on your life… there are moments where the journey feels more isolating than you expected.
You can be surrounded by people and still feel alone.
You can know God is with you and still feel the ache of silence.
As though He has also deserted you…
But hear this truth, even if your emotions are struggling to agree with it:
Deuteronomy 31:6 says,
“He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
That means even now… He is still with us through all this…
Isaiah 43:2 says,
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you… when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned.”
You are not in this alone.
And maybe right now, your life feels like a pressing…
Like something is being squeezed out of you.
Like there is pressure you cannot escape.
Like the process itself feels uncomfortable… even painful.
But think about a seed
When a seed… like an olive or a peanut… is pressed, it goes through crushing.
There is pressure, there is breaking, there is a process that does not look gentle.
But that pressing is what produces oil.
Oil that heals.
Oil that carries fragrance.
Oil that is used for anointing.
And then I am encouraged and need to remember that…
While the seed is being crushed… it does not look like the oil it is becoming.
And right now, you and I may not recognize what God is doing in our lives because the process does not resemble the promise and that process is not the end.(2X)
2 Corinthians 4:8–9 says,
“We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.”
You may feel pressed but you are not destroyed.
You may feel stretched but you are not abandoned.
God is still with you in this.
Even the parts of your life that feel like residue… the parts that feel wasted, overlooked or broken… God does not discard them.
Nothing in your life is wasted in His hands.
Romans 8:28 says,
“All things work together for good to them that love God…”
That includes this moment…
That includes this pain….
That includes the questions you don’t yet have answers to.
So if you are tired… I do understand you because I feel tired as well but I am continuing to Labor with you and even though I can’t be where you are,
I am holding your hand and asking you to push on.
Because we have to push forward towards the mark of the high calling.
If you feel like you are barely holding on…
If your faith feels stretched and your heart feels heavy…
God has not left you…. He has not forgotten your prayers.
He has not mismanaged your life.
He has not abandoned your story.
Even in the silence… He is working.
Even in the pressure… He is producing something.
Even in the confusion… He is still faithful.
You may not see the oil yet.
But it is being produced…. All for His glory…
so let’s continue to WORSHIP Him even when it just doesn’t make sense…
(THE BIBLE CALLS IT A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE)
Together let’s worship Him even with tears in our eyes and pain in our hearts.
Let’s continue to worship Him even during the weariness and the grief because?
