is more than just knowledge

You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.

the demons know all about God

they know more than we will ever know on this earth

they believe what they know and are terrified

so there is more than jus having a knowledge of God to be saved

V 6

without faith it’s impossible

so where does a saving faith come from?

Ephesians 2:8 LSB

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

Philippians 1:29 LSB

For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,

Philippians 1:6 LSB

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

The Evidence of Faith

a christian is known by by their fruit

Ephesians 2:10 LSB

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

there is evidence of a changed life

there is evidence of a repented life

a turn from sin

we repent because of regeneration

we don’t want to sin anymore

V 26 we don’t want to sin deliberately anymore

there is the fruit of someone who is trying really hard to be a christian

and the fruit of a real Christian

Noah was told there was going to be a flood

to build an ark to safely go through it

Noah believed God and the result of his faith in what God said is

he built an ark for the next 120 years

under intense criticism

it is given to us by God

we put our trust in Jesus to save us

as a result of faith there are good works that others see
