Relationships wk 3 Conflict resolution The Foundation - Choose Peace * Romans 12:18(nasb). 'If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. ' * Colossians 3:15 (niv) - "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace." * Matthew 5:9(niv) - "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." Listen First, Speak Second * James 1:19-20 (niv) - "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires." * Proverbs 18:13(niv) - "To answer before listening - that is folly and shame." * Proverbs 18:2(niv) - "Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions." Watch Your Words * Ephesians 4:29 - "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs." * Proverbs 15:1 - "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." * Proverbs 21:23 - "Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity." * Colossians 4:6 - "Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt."
