The bible says  in Gen 2:24 

That is a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.  

This is what the two of you are about to do.  

I know you have not taken this vow lightly. You are both spirit-led. God is at the center of your life. And he's now about to be at the center of your marriage.

Marriage God’s idea from the very begin. Marriage actually has a really distinct purpose, We see this in the book of Ephesians. It describes that marriage is actually designed to be a Living, breathing picture of Christ's love for the church.

The Bible puts it this way in Genesis 2:24:  

“A man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” 

  the he gives them a job description in….

Ephesians 5:33 says this… That the husband should love his wife as himself and…. the wife should respect her husband.

First… to you Kyle…

The Groom

You are called to love your wife the way Jesus loved the Church: with sacrifice not superiority.

You are to be patient… and forgiving

It's actually about A call to serve, nurture and cherish her.

The more you embody Christ, the easier It will be for her to be the bride that God has called her to be.

Now to… Amari

The Bride

You are called to respect your husband… The way the church is to honor and respect our Savior Jesus.

This is not about his dominance over you… but a trust in Him, the way the church is to trust Christ.

So it's important for you to know, Amari, that you have equal value in this marriage. This is not about you losing your voice. It's about becoming a team.

Trusting that Kyle’s got your best interest in mind.

In fact it's really easy to respect to A man who is willing to lay his life down for you.

Now to…

Both of you

and to every married couple in the room:

Marriage is a sanctifier. It will confront you, it will be painful at times, and it will humble you. This makes you better not weaker.

Marriage is your first calling, I believe as people watch you live your life, it will be the loudest gospel that is preached.

Salvation Appeal (P. Shawn)

Today, the bride and groom have asked me to share the reason for this blessed marriage. 

It is their faith in Christ. They believe the greatest gift of life is salvation.... and hope their marriage will point you to his love.  

The Bible tells us that sin separates us from God...  but He made a way to restore that relationship through Jesus.  

Jesus said...  

John 14:6:  "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me!" 

Jesus is the way to what? 

He is the way to forgiveness, freedom and an eternal destiny with God.  

We can have this great gift...  By placing our faith in Jesus... and receiving His gift of Grace...

KYLE ,  will you have this woman to be your wedded wife, to live together after God’s ordinance in the holy estate of matrimony?  Will you love her, comfort her, honor, and keep her in sickness and in health and forsaking all others keep yourself only unto her so long as you both shall live?  (I DO) 

Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and cherish her, in sickness and health, in trying times and smooth, in lean times and full, all the days of your lives? If so say... I do

I will ask you to seal the vows, which you have just made by the giving and receiving of rings.  The circle is the emblem of eternity and the material of the ring is the symbol of all that is pure and holy, and my prayer is that your love and your happiness will be as unending as these rings.
