YIELD TO GOD’S CALL TO HOLINESS. ROMANS 7 THE STRUGGLE OVERCOMING THE PULL OF SIN IS ONLY POSSIBLE THROUGH CHRIST. ROMANS 8:1-11 OUR CONFIDENCE OF LIFE IN THE SPIRIT THE INDWELLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVES US THE HOPE OF OUR FUTURE RIGHTEOUSNESS AND GLORIFICATION! ROMANS 8:12-17 THE PRIVILEGES OF LIFE IN THE SPIRIT LIFE IN THE SPIRIT GIVES US THE FREEDOM TO LIVE FOR GOD (ENABLEMENT) AND ENJOY THE PRIVILEGES OF BEING HIS CHILD (RELATIONSHIP). HOPE OF SANCTIFICATION THROUGH THE SPIRIT Romans 8:1830 Hope of Sanctification through the Spirit 1. Anticipate God’s future work of glorification. 18-22 2. Persevere with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. 23-25 3. Live in hope because God is accomplishing His sanctifying work in our life through the Holy Spirit. 26-30 PERSEVERE WITH HOPE TODAY BECAUSE GOD WILL ACCOMPLISH HIS PURPOSE OF COMPLETE SANCTIFICATION IN OUR LIFE. Application 1. This is about having the right perspective of life today – we have hope in the Holy Spirit! 2. Though the struggle with sin today is hard – there is hope for today and for eternity. Don’t live in despair of what your life is today as if there are no answers. Application 3. Have the right view of the struggles of life – what is our good is what further sanctifies us. 3. Live life today with the end in sight! Think eternally. 3. Take comfort in knowing that our all-sovereign God is accomplishing His purposes in our individual lives. PERSEVERE WITH HOPE TODAY BECAUSE GOD WILL ACCOMPLISH HIS PURPOSE OF COMPLETE SANCTIFICATION IN OUR LIFE. HAVE HOPE IN THE SPIRIT – HE WILL ACCOMPLISH THE WORK OF SANCTIFICATION IN OUR LIFE!
