The Mirror. Who we see looking back at us in the mirror.
The Whip. All about establishing territory.
God’s Word establishes terrirtory that we are to possess around us.
The territory that possesses our mind comes from our tongues working in conjunction with one of three things:
Our past. We speak that which we WERE over our lives today.
Our future. We speak that which we hope in some day to be.
Our present. We speak God’s current standard over our lives.
Our past.
We often view our lives through the lens of who we once were. We look through the lens of sin or mistakes our past to dictate who we are today.
Our identity from the past can cme from a variety of different sources.
Parents of family.
Mistakes we have made
I hear things like
2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
. New Creation. The View that we have of ourselves. The man that we see you looking back at us in the mirror. We have choices. Of what we see you looking back at us. We can review our lives through our past. Looking through our past mistakes. Or our past victories. Becoming something of yesteryear. Or, we can look at our lives through the future. What we are worried or anxious about. What may happen. Or, I don't know what to say here. But, as Believers, we are called to look at ourselves through the present. Not who we may be in the future who we were yesterday, but who we are today in Christ. This becomes who we are. This becomes our true identity. And, sometimes it takes time for us to conform are Godly identity into our humanly mind or understanding.
So, how do I do that? We sacrifice our past at the cross. We realized that Jesus Took upon himself the payment for passing. And the glory for past Victory. It's all his. For the future, we take outs work, do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow has enough worries of its self. That we cannot change a thing about the future, but we are only here to trust him for the present. And. For the present. We begin to understand our position in Christ and begin to speak that out. It's so that begins to fill our mouths and who we are and what we say in the Declaration that we make over our life. Remember, cording to Proverbs, that the power of life and death rest in the tongue. That we have a great opportunity to bring the life and that life comes through the Declaration of God's word over our life and, when we do that, we align ourselves with God's word. We move from Death to life. We move to a place of Grace, love, and wholeness in the identity that we have with him.
