My Heart
Recently I’ve felt that we as a church, as a youth group, or as a whole are missing something.
As I prepared for my Sunday message I realized what I was a feeling was a deeper revelation of the current state of the Church in America, myself included.
We do not chase God.
We waste our lives.
We prove ourselves un-aprroved.
This is hash stuff and I say it in love.
Our number one purpose is to bring glory to God
We live in a day and age in Christianity where bring glory to ourselves is some how acceptable.
It blows me away that we claim to be Christian yet if I walk into almost any church in America and say, “God is not for you, God is for God,” we would be perplexed.
Does this mean God is against us? No! He’s for us but for the bigger purpose of bringing Himself glory.
One of the harshest truths of the Bible is this: God does not need you, and he could care less if you are in heaven or not.
Let me unpack that, and reiterate. What I mean by saying God could care less about you being in heaven is this. It is not about you. Your faith adds nothing to him and takes nothing away from him. Your disbelief adds nothing to him and takes nothing away from him. Why? Because it is not about you it is about God.
When we don’t bring glory to God we waste our lives.
;
We were created to bring glory to God.
For us to full fill our created purpose, we must bring glory to God.
The goal of life must be that Christ is glorified in and through us.
We see that fullness of life when we take joy in Christ Jesus.
We full fill our created purpose when we take joy in Christ because God is most glorified when we are most satisfied with him.
