1 Samuel 1:21–28 NIV

When her husband Elkanah went up with all his family to offer the annual sacrifice to the Lord and to fulfill his vow, Hannah did not go. She said to her husband, “After the boy is weaned, I will take him and present him before the Lord, and he will live there always.” “Do what seems best to you,” her husband Elkanah told her. “Stay here until you have weaned him; only may the Lord make good his word.” So the woman stayed at home and nursed her son until she had weaned him. After he was weaned, she took the boy with her, young as he was, along with a three-year-old bull, an ephah of flour and a skin of wine, and brought him to the house of the Lord at Shiloh. When the bull had been sacrificed, they brought the boy to Eli, and she said to him, “Pardon me, my lord. As surely as you live, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord. I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there.

What is the melody? The way we keep our children to ourselves. Unable to have children is a problem and when you have it, how can you let it go?

Good application when you write the sermon — separation anxiety… drop off your child in college or wedding.

Giving Samuel to the Lord...

Where is God’s mercy and patient? In the name of God .... provided by God. God answered my prayer… Gave a child to a woman without a child. God gave her five more children after Samuel. Where is God’s justice when having too many children? Ha.....

Suggest — Application… watching them walking to the tabernacle. Taking care of the cow with straight — a sacrifice need to be made.

The mercy to Israel - Samuel is the leader for them.

What kind of God is this? A God of life and death.

Exodus - bring animal and offerings to fulfil vows.

Judges 11:34–37 NIV

When Jephthah returned to his home in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him but his daughter, dancing to the sound of timbrels! She was an only child. Except for her he had neither son nor daughter. When he saw her, he tore his clothes and cried, “Oh no, my daughter! You have brought me down and I am devastated. I have made a vow to the Lord that I cannot break.” “My father,” she replied, “you have given your word to the Lord. Do to me just as you promised, now that the Lord has avenged you of your enemies, the Ammonites. But grant me this one request,” she said. “Give me two months to roam the hills and weep with my friends, because I will never marry.”

Judges 11:34-

How old is Samuel? In most cases - weaning is normally by the age of three. But in the old day, weaning is normally after 7-10. Some people are still eating the mother’s milk after 7 years old.

How truth is this?

I am going to give him — forever — reign in his throne forever. This is the reference for Christ?

Samuel serve until death but Christ — serve forever. The same word for Solomon — reign forever. Only Christ is the king and rule forever.

What your kids is going to praise the Lord forever. You are here because, I am going to teach your kids to praise the Lord forever.
