Genesis 37:18–20 NKJV

Now when they saw him afar off, even before he came near them, they conspired against him to kill him. Then they said to one another, “Look, this dreamer is coming! Come therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit; and we shall say, ‘Some wild beast has devoured him.’ We shall see what will become of his dreams!”

Background

Joseph was the chosen son by Israel;

His brothers resented him because of this;

Then he told them of a dream he had;

His dream hinted to his reigning over them.

When you lest expect it

His brothers hated him because of his father and dream;

They wanted to make him go away and didn’t care how;

However, Joseph did not know the problem he was walking into;
