Faith and the Word (Foundations of Faith)

Tenacity in the Lord. It would be scattered into our lives. At our hearts and is the open and ready in Jesus name.

Praise God. I received that Pastor. They that was good. Are you ready? This is celebration Sunday. Come on your face. Alright hallelujah praise God. Is always a joy? Always a joy to bring the message of the Lord. Amen. So this is our last Sunday, isn't it for the foundation series, the basics of you life? You know, you can't have a new life if you don't have the right tools. Can be a new creation without the right equipment. And God is so good because he's given us two. Wonderful, things is giving us a lot of things. I don't know if you were here, what we talked about the spiritual toolkit, there's so many things that God gave us two main ingredients that will help us carry through our lives as we navigate our new life He-Man. That is Faith and the word of God. Two very important things that you're on your way, to the Victoria Supernatural, Abundant Life, that Jesus gave for you. For me for all of us. Amen. Amen, faith and the word are joined together. You cannot take them apart from each other. They are directly linked to each other. The word gives power and authority.

And Faith activates the power and authority. I meant there is already power and authority in the word of God, but we need to execute that power and authority. It's like a car and a driver, right? The car is everything. It has in order to make the journey, you've got the engine, you've got the fuel, you've got the battery already all ready to take you somewhere. It doesn't run without a driver. The driver is the one who makes and starts the car and makes it move and goes to your destination. The agree. The car is the word and the driver is faith. Both are necessary to reach the destination. It was necessary. You need both of them without the driver or the car won't go anywhere. It's not that it's not useless and it's just not being utilized. You still got the car and it's perfect. It's not being utilized. without the car, on the other hand,

where would you go? The driver has no means to make the Journey. Of course, you can walk. But he might not take you very far. So you only go alone short way. How do you see? We need both. We need faith and the word of God. Faith is the beginning of life. It is the beginning of a new, like, when we become Born Again, by the way, if you haven't been saved or if you haven't accepted the Lord personally in your life, let us know in case important it's important because this is the start of a new life. We need to have this new life that God wants for us. We all know that faith is essential for being born again, right? Effusion, stew. Versus 829 says, for by Grace, you have been saved through faith. What you do. It's not how good you are. It's not how much you work or is that how much you give to other people. Is not only that, these are good things. By the way, things are good things, but it's not enough to give yourselves a Chien. We need grace and grace Works through faith. Hey man, we need to believe that. In the Bible's definition of faith is in Hebrews 11 verse 1. You probably know all this already face shows, the reality of what we hope for it is, the evidence of things we cannot see. No, this is important. Okay? Faith has three components. What is the number one? We must have hope it is. Where it starts a man. You don't hope for anything, then you would need Faith. Probably.

And then there's the invisible part. This is what's hard, isn't it? When you cannot see when you're uncertain, when you don't know what this is, essential part of faith, without it, you don't need faith. If you see something already, do you need paid for that? You don't, if you have it already, do you need to pay for that? No, you don't. Right, it is when you say you don't have something and then you cannot even see. You don't even know when it's coming. What's going to be in the future. So this invisible part is an essential component of Faith. So you got home, you got the invisible and then you've got the evidence. This is the best part, isn't it? When your home suddenly manifest and becomes an Evidence in the substance of what you're hoping for, it's now reality. Okay. Sophie you think of a line between home and the evidence as a straight line. These are the two points. The starting point is you're hoping you're wanting something, you're hoping for something and the endpoint is the evidence or the substance or the demonstration, or the Fulfillment of that, you're hoping for the invisible space is where Faith resides Is where Faith resides Faith? Resides in the waiting. It's lives there. And that is where we need to be mindful of and this is where the battle begins. Amen. This space between these two points is where the battle begins. Most of us, some of us. And perhaps all of us at some point could not endure. That space. And we give up, and we never see the evidence of what we hope for. We just grow weary, we get tired because it's just too long lord. It's just too long. We need to end or we need to endure be steadfast The Firm. Begin the space with expectation with home because God will see us through. And that is where the other component is He-Man. There is a partnership between us and God, God is not going to allow us to be helpless, but he has a partnership with us. Where is the partnership? God will equip us. With. Faith.

So that we can endure that space where we have to be at. He gave each one a Measure of Faith. It's like a deposit. Put a deposit in us so that we have something to start with is any good. It's not completely empty, everyone. The Bible says in Romans 12:3, God has dealt with us a Measure of Faith. So we all have that no one can say, I don't have faith. We do we have but God wants us to partner with him. Our faith is meant to grow. Its Mane to grow. God cannot make it grow. He gave us a deposit already. Amen. A down payment.

We need to cultivate that faith. And how do we call the vet. This is where our part comes in. This is our part and we need to improve. Cultivate, develop, add to what God has given us grows when we continually here, meditate and apply the word of God Romans 10:17. A man faith comes from hearing and hearing the word of God. Hey man. If you want to cultivate that Faith, you have to hear. Always the word of God. It's that simple, that's where it comes from, but I didn't with where it changes. It becomes bigger, stronger and deeper. And faith is perfected when our eyes remain on Jesus. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus is the one who initiates and perfect our faith. He meant the moment we take our eyes off of Jesus. Our faith begins to weaken it goes. We already saw what happened to Peter when he was walking on water. As long as he was eyes were fixed on Jesus. He was doing the impossible at the moment. You looked at the waves and the wind, he began to sing, that's the same thing. I asked the same thing. Faith cannot survive, where fear dominate and fear comes, when we take our eyes off of Jesus,

So this is where the word comes in word, is the foundation of our faith. Hey man, how do we make? Jesus tangible in our everyday lives. You can't see Jesus. That you can talk to him but he's not going to talk to you back. He does in a small still voice but how do we make him tangible? Through the word through the word, John 1 verses 1 through 14. The word became flesh in the beginning. The word with the word was there, then the word was with God and the word became flesh. We all know who that is, amen. So the word of God is Jesus himself. Sweet. Even fathom that the word is Jesus himself that when we read it with talking and speaking and hearing and be instructed by Jesus himself. So the best way to know Jesus Through the word through the word. It's no other way. Of course, there are things that you could do. Like, you know, but the main thing is through the word because you're talking to him directly, he is the one we do not need to physically see him because he speaks to us through his word, this is why. If we truly want to know Jesus, we must read the Bible. That's why it's there. It's so beautiful, it's amazing. It's like a whole week. When I first read the Bible was like a whole new universe open to me that I never knew about that. Was the impact. It had on me without the Revelation and the understanding that Jesus and the word of one, he will never take prominence in our lives. Always take a back seat. In our everyday life, in our schedules, in our confusions, in our worries, in our circumstances, the word will always be the last one in our lineup of things to do, but if we can understand that Jesus is the word he was 8. The first place in your heart and in your day. Without the knowledge of scriptures, our faith will never be strong enough to endure. Trials will never be, Jesus, rebuked the Sadducees because they lacked understanding of both scripture and God's power. Matthew 22 verse 29. Jesus said, you know, who knows everything about the law. You do not know the scriptures and the power of God. Why did he say scripture for is in the power of God? I got the power of God is in the scriptures.

It is in the scripture, there is a direct connection between knowing the word and the power of God. If you knew the word you have the power of God working in you, Isn't that amazing? Isn't that something that we should really look forward to and just really utilize the power. Don't let the car sit there. I live with everything in it. Driving time. It is a natural word. The word is a written contract. Write the word of God is the guarantee that he will do exactly what he says. You know, in this world, everything is about written contracts. Don't you agree? You rent a house. You need their lease agreement to buy a house. You need a purchase agreement yet, have a service, you get a service provider. Everything is a written contract. Because a written contract gives you the proof and the legal assurance. For both parties to perform their duties. The word is our legal contract with God. It is Heaven's guarantee to us.

Can you get that? It is our guarantee that we can present the guy. Look you said this, you said you would do this. You said you will give me this. You said you will perform this. It is the heavens guarantee to us. It is the proof of his promises backed by his character and nature and because God cannot lie. His word cannot fail. I asked Pastor, Dave, Pastor. Dave, can you lend me? Five hundred pounds, please.

And you let me 500 pastor. And Pastor Dave said, of course I can, of course I can, I'm going to start rejoicing even if he hasn't given the money yet. Why is that? Because I know him because I know his character. I know he's a man of God and I can trust him. I'm going to start rejoicing the moment. You say that even if he hasn't given me the money yet because I trust him. I know his nature, I know his character. I know he's a man of God. He's just a man. But we got himself. Werecat says provide for you. I will give you everything you need, you can ask me for anything you wish and you shall have it. Sometimes, we don't believe it. You guys. I will heal you by my stripes, you are healed. Sometimes we doubt it. He's got himself and yet we demand, we can trust somebody for his word so we must trust God. This is why the word will never return void an empty. Isaiah 55:11, my word goes out from my mouth will never return. Empty, it will always accomplish what he intended it to do for our lives. It's been always do that. No matter what happens. It will always do that because God watches over his word to perform it. He watches every word and he makes sure he's going to do it. And he will. And he will, but we need to say the sit in that waiting. When we don't see things happen yet.

And when we have the word, we have, the guarantee that heaven will perform have and will perform So, we have faith. And the word. If we combine them together, what does it really mean? It means we must have faith in the word. That's what it means. We must have faith in the word, Jesus fought the devil and one in Matthew 4. Remember the Temptation? Three times, the devil tempted him and three times. He answered him in scriptures.

Thinking about this. Yes. It said in the Bible in Matthew to Jesus answered him in the scripture, but I said, okay, let me just check if that scripture that Jesus said, is really in the Bible, of course, it is right. But I just wanted to see physically because they didn't have Bibles then I didn't have Bibles that. So I said, where is this when Jesus said man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Cuz that's what his first answer. Do you know where that was it? That exact quote, it wasn't just Rhonda me to Toronto me chapters 8. So the rest of them are there. Really? In Deuteronomy, praise God. Jesus cannot lie. And that in the first Temptation, This is what's interesting, guys. Jesus said to them. Okay, the third one.

You know, Jesus just got tired of the devil, tempting him. So he said away from me, say that he just got tired of his temptation for it is written, you shall Worship the Lord, your God. And you know what happened to Debbie left him? Then you know we should say that. And other translation it says, get out of your Satan.

You know.

When the enemy invades our lives fight with the word of God and he will leave us. Don't let him oppress. You don't let him to mention. We have an arsenal of weapons. We have the sword of the spirit. According to Ephesians 6, these are all the words of God. This is what we fight with. Imagine a stranger coming to your house Judging a stranger coming to your house and say knock knock knock. I want to live here, bringing all these things inside your house. What's going on? Who are you? You have no right to live here. He has no authority over our lives.

What are we going to do? We need to fight him. Get him out of our lives. Can we do it with the sword of the spirit? The word of God? Jesus came to give us life life. That is all the floor like that is full and even overflowing but the devil doesn't want us to have that kind of life. So we must fight him. We must fight him. That only he can only be driven Away by the word of God. Know the word and learn to fight back. We are in a spiritual battle. We are not in a playground. Every day there's a battle going on in our lives, and when we must fight, we're not fighting with flesh and blood. You're not fighting with your boss, you're not fighting with your husband or wife, you're not fighting with your children. You're not fighting with your. Whoever even your friends, your family, you're fighting with spiritual forces of darkness and we must learn to fight.

So faith in the word is what we need to have the word gives God's promise and faced Faith. Lays hold of that promise until it becomes a reality. The Authority is in the word and the movement is in faith. That's how we move the authority. Hallelujah, the word will give us Direction, but faith will give us demonstration. Faith does not work independently from the word. True biblical. Faith is Faith. In What God Says, It's faith in what God says, not went with with what? Our neighbors says, not. With some other people says, it's in the word of God. Whatever God says, that is what we believe don't trust the bad report. Trust the good report of God. Sometimes we trust, we give trust more to the bad report more than the good report we should do that. Keep your eyes on Jesus through his word through his word and in time the evidence will appear the evidence of our faith. Since becoming born. Again, my life is always been ruled by words because this is, how is the only way? I know to overcome every trial, every challenge in my life. That's the only way. I cannot find anywhere. Anyway else. I think I said to you before that, I survived 9/11 because of one word of God. Proverbs 3 5 through 6 that word safety carried me through that horrible time. My prayer list are always supported with scriptures. If I ask for something, I need to back it up with the word of God, cuz that's my guarantee from God that he will do it. You know, where the Bible. I'm going to tell you in John. There are three chapters there. Where God says you can ask for anything. You wish it's like a blank check. Give us a blank check. I'm not going to tell you which chapters you have to find that out three chapters. He said the same thing and when he repeated three times that means he is serious. He wants us to know this and he wants us to use this. Everyday, before I face the world, I declare the word of God over my life. I declare the word of God over my life. It becomes my Spiritual armor, my protection so that the fiery darts of the enemy will not get through me. I declare over my life, you know, people can believe my age when I tell them why. Because every day I say, even in old age, I will still produce fruit. I will remain vital in grease live in that that I will be like a tree planted near the water whose leaves Stay Green. Always bearing fruit. These are not my words. These are the words of God. I can give you all the verses that protect to it.

Is the power of the word of God. When I moved to London from the US completely out of my comfort zone completely out of my comfort zone. I don't have any support system here but I asked the Lord to work care. So he granted my request.

Did the Book of John? The one I told you? So I said, but that I needed to know if this is really the right one for me, the Lord please confirm confirm for me that this is your will that I would move to a place where I have no support system at all, even though I wanted it and you gave it to me. I sought a word from God and he confirmed it to me in Zechariah, 10-12 in the NLT version. Now, is that a word or what? Amen. That was thirteen years ago. God cannot be wrong. When you ask a word and you kept it, depend on that word. Last night as I was reflecting Lord, I don't want to be there, I don't want to just give them. I don't want to just, I don't want it to come from me to come from you and he gave me a word. Matthew 10 verse 20,

Hallelujah. Did you get it? Ask the Lord, he responds and he gives you a word and you stand on that word, no matter how long it will take you to see the evidence you stand on it. Like you would drive depended on it and you will see the evidence, the substance, the manifestation, the demonstration of your faith. Hallelujah. Thank you. Lord. In Jesus name, we pray
