Take Courage and Change Your World!
דָּמָה dâmâh, daw-maw’; a prim. root; to be dumb or silent; hence, to fail or perish; trans. to destroy:— cease, be cut down (off), destroy, be brought to silence, be undone, × utterly.
Now, during the fourth watch of the night He came to them, making His way upon the sea. But the disciples having seen Him walking directly upon the sea, His sandals in contact with the water, were terrified, saying, It is a phantasm, and they cried aloud for fear. And immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, Be having courage. It is I. Stop fearing. And answering Him, Peter said, O Lord. Since it is you, command me to come to you on the waves. And He said, Come at once. And having come down from the boat, Peter made his way upon the waves and came towards Jesus.
The names which man will give them will determine their use and position in reference to man’s own nature. Their names would reflect the impression produced on the man’s mind. A “name,” in the estimation of the Hebrew, conveyed the idea of personality and character. It was more than a mere label. The animals, in this account, are created after man, and in definite relation to him; an entirely different representation from that in ch. 1.
