Isaiah 43:1 “1 But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.”
God is speaking this to Isreal in a low. He affirms four things about them:
God brought you into existence. Gave you life. Created
God shaped who you are. Formed
God rescued you when you were lost. Redeemed
God claimed you as His own. Called
Of course there is a lot Isreal needs to do. But at this critical time God begins with a different concern. His concern is not “What should I do?” his concern is “What do my people need to know? And Giod chooses these four words. And ? becaus ethey span teh entire life:
The movement is beautiful because it spans an entire life:
Your beginning. Created
Your development. Formed
Your restoration. Redeemed
Your identity and belonging. Called
God was, is, and will be, in your story. Because you are his.
The Scripture doe snot invite us to ask “what shall i do? but “what am I being invited to rest in?”
