The moral excellence of God that unifies his attributes and is expressed through his actions, setting him apart from all others.

Believers are called to be holy as God is holy.

God’s nature is holy

A. He is Perfect

(NKJV) — 4 He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.

(NKJV) — 3 And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!”

Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.

He is uniquely holy

(NKJV) — 2 “No one is holy like the Lord, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.

God’s name is holy

(NKJV) — 21 But I had concern for My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations wherever they went.

22 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went.

23 And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord,” says the Lord God, “when I am hallowed in you before their eyes.

I am the Lord who sanctifies you,

God’s dwelling-place is holy

David’s palace was regarded as holy because of the presence of the ark

God’s holiness is revealed in his righteous activity

Holiness of God

(NKJV) — 13 Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary; Who is so great a God as our God?

(NKJV) — 17 The Lord is righteous in all His ways, Gracious in all His works.

(NKJV) — 14 Therefore the Lord has kept the disaster in mind, and brought it upon us; for the Lord our God is righteous in all the works which He does, though we have not obeyed His voice.

(NKJV) — 16 “O Lord, according to all Your righteousness, I pray, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people are a reproach to all those around us.
