Context

Peter and James have been arrested after healing a lame man and proclaiming the resurrection of the dead through Jesus Christ. They are threatened by the Sadducees, High Priests & Religious leaders. However, they (Sadducees and others) cannot explain away the miraculous healing of the lame man. Peter and James attribute his healing to the power of Jesus, the one whom God raised from the dead and who is alive....the Messiah, sent by God. I also think, this lame man may have been providential protection of Peter and James. Had Peter and James simply, went into the temple and proclaimed the resurrection of the dead through Jesus Christ, the Sadducees may have been more likely to have explained their message away and punished them for the message. One thing is clear, in this moment, they were released because they could not explain away the miraculous work and everyone through out Jerusalem was aware of it. If they punish them now, they will surely cause a riot.

Textual Observations

The healing of lame man was providential protection and evidence of resurrection in Jesus Christ.
Peter and James were ordinary men with no special training in Scripture. But they recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.

We must make being with Jesus a habit.

There is a massive crossover between the habits you keep and the people you hang out with. In sociology and psychology, this is called behavioral contagion—the scientific reality that we subconsciously copy the habits, attitudes, and even the speech patterns of our social circle.
