If call Jesus Christ Lord & Saviour - New Creation
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Bible says = New Family | Adopted | New Identity = Son or Daughter.
But being made new doens’t mean every part of life transformed yet - Still some messy bits.
It’s like - Getting up at night - Stumbing around kitchen in dark - Everything looks fine - As soon as turn light on, see Dirty parts, dust, dirt, Grime.
Light did nothing wrong - Exposes what’s already there.
This is what HS wants to do - Shine light on our messy parts - Not to shame, but to Transform:
But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
Jesus is not asking you to build a new self out of willpower - Holy Spirit teaching you to live out of the identity you already have.
Question is not, ‘Has Jesus made me new?’
Question is, ‘What part of my life is the Holy Spirit trying to bring into the light?

Bible says to set mind on Spirit = If we do = Some rearranging:
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Here’s thing about Transformation: Removes what use to be there, to build something new
Pantry - Ever had pantry not cleaned out in years? Fine as long as doors are shut - Keep it shut - but thats not the instruciton for us.
Here’s Thing: May be saved - Still yet to be transformed in areas - Called “Sanctification” - What is sanctification? Becoming more like Jesus + Breaking bondage. Bible Explains:
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
Clear: Not gritting your teeth - HS leading you to live out of New Identity. Not Behaviour modification. Spiritual Transformation.
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
What mean? Work out what God has worked in | Not Passive = BUT God gives you both Will, and does the Work through your submission
Coaching kids, I can show them how, but they have to step onto the field.
Have you been asking God to change you without submitting to His correction?
Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.
Futility = Emptiness = They have not been enlightened… But you have.
But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus,
You can’t change what you will not confront. How do we confront it? First, Find it:
Open door - Grab Flashlight - Have a look in there (or just turn the light on).
But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible,
What have you left in Pantry for so long, just feels normal?
to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires,
You can’t change what you will not confront.
Pick up jars: Covetness, Jealousy, Unforgiveness, Bitterness, Pain, Resentment
Heres the truth: What stays hidden, cannot be healed. What stays in the dark can not be transformed.
and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
Notice the middle step.
Paul doesn’t just say put off the old | put on the new.
He says, be renewed in the spirit of your minds.
Not behaviour management - Spiritual Transformation.
This is Spirit changing how you think, so you can live like who you already are.
Who are you?
Not own - Bought with Price | Never be abandoned - Nothing can seperate from love of God | Beloved | God is redeemer, rock, by His Spirit we cry Abba Father - And He sees the bridge to Freedom.
So, why can’t we just leave the pantry door shut? Hidden things become footholds.
and give no opportunity to the devil.
Devil loves using what you ignore. Give him foothold - He will try turn into stronghold.
Unforgiveness = Bitterness, Hurt = Resentment, Anger = Pain.
What have you been excusing that the enemy is exploiting?
Yes - Hidden things give Enemy room, but deeper than that:
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Isaiah = Rebellion grieves HS | Doesn’t remove from God’s Family, but DOES pull you out of step with His presence and Purpose.
Good News = Been Empowered for good work such as this:
And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
Not about gritting teeth = Following Spirit = Because you have new heart, new Spirit - This is why must open door and cooperate with what Spirit wants to do:
This is why Paul can say:
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Why don’t we confront? Shame.
Reason you don’t have to keep things hidden is because Jesus already carried shame to cross | You are beloved | Shame keeps people in Bondage.
Where Shame holding you back? When you bring it into the Light, Spirit can lead you where Flesh never could.
Bob Goff - Witchdoctor Story - Forgiveness, entire jail cell got baptised.
for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.
Oh might be some rearranging! and it might look Good.
Rearrange pantry, make it look great…you become “Pantry Proud” - You wanna show people how amazing it is… and it usually shows them about their pantry.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Might find some new things in Pantry:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
Here’s the call
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
Abrahaam and Isaac - Sometimes an Idols can be fleshy feeling…
What have you kept on shelf that belongs on the altar?
Jesus can guide you, because Jesus went first.
Jesus can help lay down your life - Because He laid down His.
Beaten, Tortured, Blood pouring out | Because of that - Penalty of Sin taken away | One Day, Jesus comes back for His Church and remove us from presence of Sin.
But Right here | Messy Middle | Poured out His Spirit | To give us the POWER to defeat Sin, right here, Right now.
Not to condemn, not to shame, but to set free | Not to put you under a cloud - Set food on firm foundation, so when Clouds come, you’ll be left standing.
This is not behavuour modification, it’s spirit transformation.
Here is the Call Church:
Open Door: Let Christ’s light shine on you | Be freed from Shame and Bondage today | Lay it down and walk into Life.
This is our prayer:
“Help us to lean not on our flesh, but to be led by your Holy Spirit into life, freedom, revelation and power and help us to walk in step with the Spirit.”
For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
