Our main scripture this morning comes from the book of:

Luke 7:11–17 “11 Soon afterward Jesus went with his disciples to the village of Nain, and a large crowd followed him. 12 A funeral procession was coming out as he approached the village gate. The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her. 13 When the Lord saw her, his heart overflowed with compassion. “Don’t cry!” he said. 14 Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped. “Young man,” he said, “I tell you, get up.” 15 Then the dead boy sat up and began to talk! And Jesus gave him back to his mother. 16 Great fear swept the crowd, and they praised God, saying, “A mighty prophet has risen among us,” and “God has visited his people today.” 17 And the news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding countryside.”

Christ brings life in a twofold manner; (1) Abundant life, and (2) Eternal life. When Christ comes, He brings life

As I just read, we read throughout the Bible that life brings us some Horror in this world, putting it mildly.

Luke 7:11–12 “11 Soon afterward Jesus went with his disciples to the village of Nain, and a large crowd followed him. 12 A funeral procession was coming out as he approached the village gate. The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her.

We have heard in life, “Death is sure.” Even the Bible conforms it:

Hebrews 9:27 “27 And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment,”

So get ready church, sooner or later we are all going to die. Some Young, old, rich, poor, all must die)

We do not know when this thing called Death is going to happen, it is sudden usually, abrupt sometime and sometime it takes a long time.

We read in:

2 Samuel 14:14–15 “14 All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him. 15 “I have come to plead with my lord the king because people have threatened me. I said to myself, ‘Perhaps the king will listen to me.”

(People die at all ages, unexpectedly)

Death is final.

Ecclesiastes 8:8–9 “8 None of us can hold back our spirit from departing. None of us has the power to prevent the day of our death. There is no escaping that obligation, that dark battle. And in the face of death, wickedness will certainly not rescue the wicked. 9 I have thought deeply about all that goes on here under the sun, where people have the power to hurt each other.

(All the money, all the riches, you name it in the world cannot prevent death)

So, now we have studied that we cannot predict, prevent or postpone death it’s time to start today to Prepare for death.............AMEN?

Prepare for death—

John 3:16–17 16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.”

We are to Believe in Him and accept Him as our Saviour

THOURH JESUS, WE HAVE THE HOPE THAT WE ARE PROMISED THROUGH GOD’S HOLY WORD

Luke 7:13 “13 When the Lord saw her, his heart overflowed with compassion. “Don’t cry!” he said.”

Jesus had compassion for her, she was sad and hurt, He was sad and hurt. He wanted to bless her with not hurting over the death of her son. Do we here this morning show the compassion that Jesus did? We can, we should.

WE all have this Hope in this life

John 10:10–11 “10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.”

Jesus wants our lives to be Abundant, enjoyable, peaceful, joyful life for all who know Christ as Saviour is better.

If we are here this morning, if we are listening we all have Hope in the future

John 5:24–25

24 “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life. 25 “And I assure you that the time is coming, indeed it’s here now, when the dead will hear my voice—the voice of the Son of God. And those who listen will live.”

All can have hope for the future in Jesus Christ, by accepting Him as Saviour, Lord, and Master. You can do this today church.

WE read a few minutes ago:

Luke 7:14–15 14 “Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped. “Young man,” he said, “I tell you, get up.” 15 Then the dead boy sat up and began to talk! And Jesus gave him back to his mother.”

Let’s analyze this scripture:

A. The touch—“And he (Jesus) touched the coffin”

(The touch of Jesus changes all things) The Paul bearers stopped. OK We can get a visual of this can’t we? We all, well most of us have seen and been apart of this in funerals. It is a somber, sole event. Jesus stops the carrying of the body. The service stops, all eyes are watching Jesus. Then these words are spoken by Jesus,

“Young man, I tell you to get up.” I say unto thee, arise. Then Jesus gave this young man back to his mother.

Jesus is The life-giver church.....Did you all hear that?

John 11:25 25 “Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.”

D. As Jesus gave life to this young person, this young man- so He wants to give life to you.

Can we imagine THE HAPPINESS in this mothers heart, the happiness in this family and community?—

Luke 7:16–17 16 “Great fear swept the crowd, and they praised God, saying, “A mighty prophet has risen among us,” and “God has visited his people today.” 17 And the news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding countryside.”
