Because humans are fickle, we often project that same inconsistency onto God. We treat His Word like a weather forecast—subject to change. But Numbers 23:19 stands as a monumental guardrail for our faith, reminding us that God is not like us. He doesn't just tell the truth; He is the truth.

The Illustration

In the early 1900s, builders began using the "Standard Meter Bar" kept in France as the absolute measurement for a meter. No matter how much a ruler in a local shop might warp or wear down, that master bar remained the unchanging standard. If your measurement didn't match the bar, the bar wasn't wrong—your ruler was.
