2 Corinthians 6:1–2 NLT

As God’s partners,* we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it. 2 For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.”* Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.

Intro

Friends this is my third visit to you all this school year and im sure that it has been a formative year for all of you. As we reach the end of the school year if we close our eyes and think we can probably remember many things; perhaps a feild trip, a theme day, a special event, an impactful lesson, a project, or maybe lunch with a friend.

Over the course of the year things change as well. We grow taller, we get older, maybe we moved, maybe we got a new pet or sibling, perhaps we started a new sport or hobby. Im going to hazard to guess that lot changed in this past year and that these things change us. This change is sometimes called transformation

Romans 12:1–2 CSB

1 Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

I know that back in the fall we discussed this passage and that this is passage that you have looked at in great deal.

Just as we grow and change in our every day lives the same is true with jesus. When we walk with Jesus things start to change. the way we think, the way we talk, act, the things the convict us change. in the same we life changes us molds and shape us. by walking the grace of God and in devotion to him calls us to live a life that is transformed.

2 Corinthians 6:1–2 ESV

1 Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2 For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Part of my job is minstering to young adults. over the past year we have been looking at alot of the same things as you all. We just finsiehd a series called how shall we live. the idea of this was now that we who have accepted the grace of God and jjesus as saviour how now do we go about our lives.

All of you are pros at this now. we know that we do this by the commitment to the renewing of our mind. When we come to Jesus every thing changes. we already mentioned how but we also realize we need to continue to walk in this transfomarion we need to live in this transformation.

the last time I was here I covered the gospel as creation, fall, redemption, restoration. sometimes I think we get too focused on the middle point we know we sin and we need jesus. Amen. I do you do to. however Jesus is offering us something more exciting then just going to heaven some day.

Friends Jesus wants to partner with you here and now. The king of the universe wants to work with you. he wants you to partneer with him the amazing things he has planned. He wants YOU!

Our text comes on the heals of one of my favourite bible verse

2 Corinthians 5:21 ESV

21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Paul wrote that Gods righteousness is now our own! we have gods power and might and goodness on our side because of what Jesus did for us on the cross.

Jesus doesnt just give us his righteousness and say have fun Goodbye, rather as paul writes we work together with him. It is no longer us doing the work rather we are partnering with Jesus to do Gods work.

however there is a warning while we work as gods partners we dont just accept this gift and ignore it

Matthew 5:14–15 ESV

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.

We have been given a great gift we are not to just burry it and see it. When I was in grade 3 I got an ipod nano it was pink, I walked aroud and showed it off because I wanted to see it. it was a cool gift. It was the best gift i ever got. what would i do

Gods grace is a greater gift then we could ever dream of we are not to ignore it, hide it, or run from it rather like a lamp we put it up high so all can see.

this is living transformed we walk in the gifting not ignoring it but as proud partners. (potential wedding ring anaology) - proud to be seen as partners.

2 Corinthians 6:2 ESV

2 For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

“For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.”[b] Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.” NLT

Paul in this text quotes a prophecy from the IS

Isaiah 49:8 ESV

8 Thus says the Lord: “In a time of favor I have answered you; in a day of salvation I have helped you; I will keep you and give you as a covenant to the people, to establish the land, to apportion the desolate heritages,

Is prophesied there will be a day of salvation. where God will have his people and establish them to do his will and purposes where he would walk with then hold them care for them and be with them. This was the whole hope of the OT that god and his people would be together forever. ever since the garden

Friends… Guess what that time is now “Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.” NLT

Today is the day of the Lord. the time of his favour is now. God is calling each and everyone of you to pariticipate as his partners. This means he wants a few things

your transformation: that you would accept his good news and gospel

to partner with you: that you walk in this transformation that you would know, love serve, seek and abide.

John 10:10 ESV

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

God is calling you into life and full life.

Conclusion

Hebrews 3:15 NLT

15 Remember what it says: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled.”*

Friends as we enter summer this is an exciting time (expand)

However things change we drift from routine, we are not in school, not in chapel weekly, more freedom and other things get in the way

Hebrews 2:1 NLT

So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it.

God calls us to be cautious in these times, we must pay attention to where we are with the lord to not drift from what we have heard.

We have been called to live a new life. life with Jesus is exciting but it is not just a one time decision made in a class room, church or chapel.

this why Paul wrote the renewing of our minds leads to transformation we must devote ourselves daily to living this new life with Jesus. Living daily with him partnering with him to proclaim his Goodness in this new transformed life

Hebrews 3:15 NLT

15 Remember what it says: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled.”*

if you hear this a think it not for me i urge you to not resist it. God wants to partner with you he is calling each and everyone of you to live transfromed by his word, and his spirit.
