Introduction
The Christian life begins, continues and is perfected altogether in connection with the Lord Jesus Christ. The Apostle Peter speaking of the Lord said, “If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.” Then he said, “To whom coming, as unto a living stone.” It was His coming to us first that changed our lives and ever since then it is our continual coming to Him that makes the journey blessed. Amen!

Consider a traveler who begins their journey on a luxury cruise, surrounded by every comfort and convenience. This traveler feels secure, supported, and at ease as the ship glides across calm waters. However, circumstances change, and at a distant port, they must transfer to a small, rocky boat that navigates rough seas. The environment shifts dramatically, demanding trust and courage. Similarly, our spiritual lives can shift from comfort to challenge, where we must rely on God’s guidance as we navigate unforeseen circumstances, embracing our faith amidst uncertainty.
This is not so in our journey through this world with Christ Jesus. On the way to Heaven wea are always in the guardian care of Jesus. This will never change, for He is the Author & Finisher of our faith. If we started right, we started with Christ and if we go on, we will go on with Him. If we finish right, we finish with Christ as “all in all.” In all circumstances and conditions we look to Jesus. We don’t have to see a new physician, to find a new friend, or to discover a new hope, but we are to look for everything in Jesus Christ.
Peter begins verse 6 with the word “wherefore” which calls our attention to what he has already said. The great blessing of “tasting” & “coming” is explained in this one verse. Christianity is founded upon the “Chief Conor Stone,” and for those who are saved He never disappoints! I would like to share three great truths with you concerning “Christ our Chief Conor Stone.”
I. The Foundation so Mighty - “Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone,”
Peter has a few things to say about this “Chief Corner Stone.”
The Living Stone - (v.4)
The Rejected Stone - (v.7)
The Offensive Stone - (v.8)
Jesus Christ is the Rock of Ages, the Smitten Stone from whence comes the Water of Life. He is the tested and tried stone that has weathered every storm.
II. The Faith so Miraculous - “and he that believeth on him.”
The faith which saves is confidence in a Person, reliance upon One who will certainly effect the salvation of those who trust Him. The Lord Jesus Himself, the Son of God is the object of our faith; it is upon Him that we lean. Salvation is truly a miracle taking place in the life of a person.

A man named John lived a life devoid of hope, trapped in addiction and despair. One night, in a moment of surrender, he cried out to God, and the light of Christ flooded his heart. Today, John is a mentor to others struggling with similar issues, proving that God's grace can take the most broken and transform them into vessels of hope. His testimony is a living miracle of God's redemptive love.
Believing in any other doctrine or in any other person will mean nothing, but just to believe on the Lord Jesus as Saviour brings about a miracle of saving grace. We have Scriptural reasons for this.
He is God’s Appointed Saviour of Men
He is God’s Approved Saviour of Men
He is God’s Anointed Saviour of Men
III. The Freedom so Manifested - “shall not be confounded”
Here is the blessing of salvation and the evil that will never overcome the believer. The meaning of the phrase, “not be confounded,” means never be disappointed. All that Christ has promised to be He will be to those who trust Him!

A man invested all his savings into a start-up that promised amazing returns. Years later, the company failed, and he lost everything. Yet, when asked if he regretted his decision, he said, 'I took a risk, but I believe in the vision.' Similarly, when we trust Jesus, we invest our lives in a promise that may not always appear fruitful in the moment, but ultimately, we will never regret putting our faith in Him. No matter what challenges arise, following Christ leads to eternal dividends.
Convicting Conclusion
Convicting Conclusion
Let me remind you when facing a crisis, the heart may feel destabilized and afraid. Remind yourself that Jesus is your cornerstone—a foundation that won’t waver amidst uncertainty. Gather yourself create a 'faith-action plan.' This plan should include regular prayer time, devotional time, and meditation on God’s Word. Always remember Jesus faced adversity but stood firm in His faith, we are standing in the same faith.
To those who may be in a lost condition today. I promise you if you will simply receive Jesus Christ as Saviour you will never be disappointed!
