The Redeemer That Is Full (14)

Full - constituting the complete quantity or extent; complete in extent or degree and in every particular; not defective or lacking.

Colossians 2:9 “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”

Because all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Christ, believers do not need additional mediators, mystical experiences, religious rituals, or human philosophies to know God. To know Christ is to know God. To trust Christ is to trust God. To worship Christ is to worship God.

Christ is full of grace! He’s not halfway full or 95% full of grace. HE IS FULL OF GRACE!

1 Peter 5:10 “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”

Christ doesn’t lack in grace!

Grace for Salvation!

Romans 3:23–25 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”

For it to be able to have all sinners be saved by the grace of God is astounding!

Romans 5:19–21 “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”

Riches - fulness, abundance, plenitude

1 Timothy 1:12–15 “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant (to overflow) with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”

Grace for Situations!

2 Corinthians 12:9 “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

2 Thessalonians 2:16–17 “Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.”

Christ is full of mercy!

Hebrews 2:16–17 “For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.”

Psalm 86:5 “For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; And plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.”

Christ is full of comfort!

2 Corinthians 1:3–4 “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”

The Receiving Of His Fulness (16)

Fullness - the sum total of the attributes and powers of God; everything that is included in a collection and that is held or included in something.

The hands that touched the leper were God's hands. The voice that calmed the sea was God's voice. The blood that flowed at Calvary was the blood of the incarnate Son of God. In Jesus Christ, God came near.

Whole -  Complete; entire; not defective or imperfect

John 5:8–9 “Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.”

Imagine you went to the ocean and took a cup to bring water out of the ocean. You grab what you need, but the ocean hasn’t dried up, nor has it been diminished. This is the fulness we have recieved!

On a hypothetical level, draining the oceans artificially would require immense energy. If we could magically open a drain the size of the Mariana Trench's deepest point (The deepest point in the Mariana Trench is the Challenger Deep. It drops approximately 35,876 to 36,200 feet (10,935 to 11,034 meters) beneath the ocean's surface. To put its size into perspective, if you placed Mount Everest (which stands at 29,031 feet) at the bottom, its peak would still be submerged under more than 1.2 miles of water.), the laws of physics and the water cycle mean it would take roughly 3 million years to drain.

Ephesians 2:7 “That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”

Grace!

2 Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:”

Mercy!

Psalm 117:2 “For his merciful kindness is great toward us: And the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord.”
