Introduction
Introduction
It is very important that we understand the power of our words, and the importance of keeping our word. I remember when I was growing up the older people used to say if you don’t have your word you don’t have anything.
I would also like to remind many of you that your character and your integrity is important when come comes to your word. People judge you by your keeping of your word.

In our opening text because of people swearing so much the Lord had to tell them not to swear at all because you don’t have the power to make anything come to pass. The swearing was so out of control until the pharisees had to judge and determine with vows would be binding.
The Lord informed them that their yes should be yes their no should be no…in others words keep your word do what you say you are going to do let your words mean something.
The bible tells us in the book of (KJV Strong's)2 Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.
Today we have people who have to swear or promise on dead people and everything else because their word to many don’t mean anything.
2 Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth,
thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.
