I love how simple the call of Jesus is: follow me.
For Philip, he doesn’t give him reasons, he doesn’t make an argument, there was something about Jesus that was so captivating for someone like Philip that he just followed him without much convincing needed
This is not the case for Nathanael

Hit on what Philip says in verse 45. This hits directly on the subject of typology
He calls Jesus the Son of Joseph, Nathanael would later call him the Son of God
“Can anything good come out of Nazareth?”
Nazareth was not a nice place
If you were God and you could choose to be born to any family in any part of the world, wouldn’t you choose somewhere nice?
Jesus didn’t he intentionally chose Mary and Joseph who lived in the backwater town of Nazareth
Isaiah 53:2 “For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him.”
