The need for sound doctrine
Titus 2:1 “But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:”

In 1971, Jerry Falwell established Liberty University as an outreach of Thomas Road Baptist Church. His central theme was “Training Champions for Christ”
Paul’s desire was to train Christians how to be what Jesus wants them to be. Paul’s greatest fear was that new converts would get into this without the proper training to be what Christ wants them to be.
1 Timothy 3:6 “Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.”
1 Timothy 5:22 “Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.”
Ephesians 3:17–19 “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”
1 Peter 5:10 “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”
Proverbs 25:19 “Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble Is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.”
Paul instructs Titus to speak the things which become sound doctrine. Build a solid foundation focused on Christ.
Sound comes from the greek work “hygiainō” which is where we get our word hygeine.
So Paul tells Titus to give healthy doctrine. Doctrine that will promote growth in Christ
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
