Two wolves inside everyone, which one wins? The one you feed the most. Spirit wars against the flesh…

Galatians 5:16 “16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”

Galatians 5:17 “17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.”

Matthew 12:30 “30 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”

We can talk about God all we want, we can teach about God all we want BUT if we don’t develop a hunger/desire for Him…it won’t amount to anything.

Matthew 5:6 “6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”

Knowledge does not make you able to do the right thing. It makes us aware of the thing we should choose. We can live in disobedience everyday knowing what we SHOULD DO!!!

Ecclesiastes 1:18 “18 For in much wisdom is much vexation, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.”

Psalm 42:1 “1 As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.”

Psalm 42:2 “2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?”

What have you been developing a hunger for?

Luke 12:31 “31 Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.”

Matthew 6:19 “19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal,”

Matthew 6:20 “20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.”

Matthew 6:21 “21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Your daily routine with to a large degree dictate your hunger.
How do you view God daily? Are your waiting on God to fix your stuff or are you waiting on God to use you, disciple you, prepare you?
Take control of your day to day life!!!

Your Desires Effect Your Actions

You can’t not love people when God has instructed us to love our enemies.

Luke 6:27 “27 “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,”

Luke 6:28 “28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.”

Luke 6:29 “29 To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either.”

What does that look like? Good Samaritan. The church goes around and doesn’t help and the world helps!
Lk 10:25-37

We have to get to the place where we desire change more than comfort and convenience, and holiness more than happiness!

Play with Fire, Get Burned

Get rid of the temptations

Hebrews 12:1 “1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,”

We can’t be hungry for God if we are filled with other things.

Isaiah 55:1 “1 “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.”

Isaiah 55:2 “2 Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.”

Knowing we should do better isn’t hungry it’s knowledge.

James 4:17 “17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.”

Are we hungry to see people saved or are we hungry for God too use us to see people saved. God here I am send me!!!  God give us to hunger to be saved, filled and used as labors in Your field!!

Matthew 9:37 “37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;”

Matthew 9:38 “38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.””

Isaiah 6:8 “8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.””

Lydia - God open their hearts!!!  As we go!!! Fruitful ministry!!!
Consuming Hunger!!!
All of this boils down to how serious we are!!!
