Worship First

Let Worship for Jesus be the thing that overflows out of you.

Luke 10:38 “38 Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house.”

Martha welcomed him -

Luke 10:39 “39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching.”

Luke 10:40 “40 But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.””

Martha was distracted with much serving - Very rarely will you hear a pastor say this: Don’t serve it means your distracted from worship. Why would I say this or how can I say this? Because I know from this story that if you really do sit at hte feet of Jesus you will leave so changed that you can’t help but worship. Look ahead and this is going to be the same Mary who gives all she has to break the purfume at his feet.

Can serving be worship? Yes. Must all service be worship? No. If you are doing it in the wrong heart.

Luke 10:41–42 “41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.””

Martha, Martha -

anxious and troubled about many thigns - how many of us could this be said about?

One thing is necesarry - ONLY one thing is actually necessary. To sit at the feet of Jesus.

Mary has chosen the good portion - Just sit. Jesus can feed the 5k. Why you worried about the appitizers.
