The Valley of Victory Psalm 23:4 3/20/11 J Moore

In this verse King David gives me THREE truths that will help me get through life’s valleys:

I have the Lord’s PROMISE Psalm 23:4 “Yes, though I walk through the VALLEY of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;...”

The CERTAINTY of the trip

The CONCISENESS of the trip

The CONFIDENCE of the trip

I have the Lord’s PROVISION Psalm 23:4 “...for YOU are with me”

A shadow is an image without SUBSTANCE

I have the Lord’s PROTECTION Psalm 23:4 “..for YOU are with me; Your ROD and your STAFF, they comfort me.”

Over in that area of the world the shepherd had TWO tools for working with sheep

He had a ROD

The rod symbolizes POWER Acts 1:8

The rod symbolizes PROTECTION

The Lord protects with His SWORD Ephesians 6:17

The Lord protects with His SPIRIT Ephesians 1:13

Phil 4:23 I can do ALL things through Christ who STRENTHENS me

The rod symbolizes PEACE

He had a STAFF

If the Lord is my Shepherd, then in life and in death I will have no FEAR.
