Does God Still Heal James 5:13-16 J Moore 4/17/11

There are THREE important insights into divine healing that I should consider:

There is the human PROBLEM that DEMANDS healing James 5:13-14

SIN is a cause of sickness I Cor 15:22

SELF is a cause of sickness

SATAN is a cause of sickness Job 2:7 Acts 10:38

There is the heartfelt PRAYER thet DESIRES healing James 5:13-14

How should I seek the Lord? II Kings 20:7 II Chron 16:12-13

I seek the Lord through PRAYER James 5:13 “...let him pray”

I seek the Lord through PRAISE James 5:13 “...let him sing praises/songs/Psalms

I seek the Lord through PEOPLE James 5:14-15

There are FIVE things that I should do when sickness comes my way

There should be a PETITION James 5:14

There should be a POURING James 5:14

Oil is a symbol of SANCTIFICATION

Oil is a symbol of APPLICATION

There should be a PROCLOMATION (confession) James 5:16

There should be a PRAYER James 5:14-15

There are TWO qualities necessary for praying with faith

The prayer of faith expresses CONFIDENCE in God

The prayer of faith acknowledges CONTROL by God II Timothy 4:20

There should be a PURPOSE Phil 1:20

There is the Heavenly POWER that DELIVERS healing James 5:15

The SIN problem must be dealt with before the SICKNESS problem can be dealt with.

Jesus Christ does heal, but the primary REASON for Jesus Christ coming to earth was not to heal my earthly body, but to die on the cross to SAVE my eternal soul.
