Jesus was fully God and fully man - he experienced a human life. He was familiar with the cares and trials of this world. He too lost his earthly father. Isaiah describes him as “a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
In our times of grief and sorrow, we can look to him, finding compassion, kindness, comfort, and hope.
