Kids Church Update
Kids Church continues to thrive, and we are so thankful for all that God is doing. We have had a steady attendance of around 20–25 children each Sunday, and it is a joy to see them growing in their faith and building friendships.
The move to two Sunday services has been a real blessing. With fewer children in each class, there is less noise, making it easier for the children to engage with the lesson and for our teachers to share God's Word in a meaningful way.
One exciting new initiative has been inviting some of our older young people from Switch Youth to help lead our weekly memory verse activity. Our hope is to build stronger connections between the younger and older children while giving our youth opportunities to develop leadership skills, serve others, and discover that they have an important place in the life of our church. We want them to know that this is their church too and that they belong here.
Earlier this year, we celebrated five children graduating from Activated Kids and moving into Switch Youth as they continue their discipleship journey. It is such a privilege to watch them grow, and we are excited to see how God will continue to work in their lives.
Our lessons continue to use quality biblical resources that include a memory verse, Bible teaching, discussion, and finish with a fun game or craft to help reinforce what the children have learned.
We are incredibly grateful for our wonderful team of teachers and helpers. Their faithfulness, enthusiasm, and heart for the children make this ministry possible, and we are so thankful for each of them.
As Kids Church continues to grow, we are praying for more people to join the team. Whether you enjoy teaching, helping with activities, welcoming children, or simply building relationships, there is a place for you. You don't have to be an expert—just someone willing to invest in the next generation. Every person has something valuable to offer, and together we have the privilege of helping children discover the love and truth of Jesus.
Our vision for Kids Church is to be a safe, welcoming place where children can learn about Jesus, grow in God's Word, build lasting friendships, and have fun. Thank you to everyone who continues to pray for, support, and serve in this important ministry.
Care Team
The Care team, are a bunch of Devoted individuals that are committed to caring for our Church Body. Sue makes amazing baby baskets, and the whole team makes meals, prays for and helps those that are in need within our Church Community. This directly relates to our Mission and Vision of our Church, that There is no Needy Among them - It’s important to look at how we can be the light for the community, but also how we can be the light right here, as revival first starts in God’s Church. This team is vital for showing the Agape Love of Jesus to the saints. Thank you to these amazing individuals that have served our Body.

Formalising the governance Team
When we planted, we set up a Temproray Governance Team to help with the oversight of the Church while we looked for suitable Elders. The Governance Team has been praying through this for the last 6 months, and we have had a Temporary Governance Team for 3 years now.
Tonight, we're excited to share how Church 242 is stepping into a healthier, more biblical structure for leadership. Just as the early church in Acts 6 recognised the wisdom of separating spiritual oversight from operational stewardship, we're doing the same. Today, we're formalising two focused teams: the Shepherding Team (Eldership) will provide spiritual care, prayer, and doctrinal oversight, while the Governance Team (Deacons) will steward our operations, finances, and resources with integrity.
Nothing really changes, except the Governance Team is being formalised - The role that the Temprorary Governance Team was doing, will now be done by the Governance Team, as God raises up Elders.
The Elders provide spiritual oversight, confirm the vision set by the Senior Pastor, and establish the theological and ethical guardrails within which the church operates. They are the shepherds who protect doctrine, pray for the sick, counsel, and guard the spiritual health of the body.
The Governance Team (Deacons) manages policy, operational, financial and legal stewardship of the church. They ensure that resources are handled with integrity, compliance is maintained, facilities are safe, and risk is managed wisely - so that ministry can flourish without distraction.
We are currently in talks with people for both teams.

PATHWAY (READ FROM SHEET)
Building
When a ship is out in rough water, at night, not knowing where to go, it relies on one thing - The Lighthouse. The lighthouse provides a place for that ship to go, direction, light and hope. The world seems to be getting dimmer, and at the moment, there is no lighthouse in Vasse. There are lot's of broken vessels, and there are plenty of needs but no lighthouse.
God has really spoken about what He wants for His Church and for the lost and found in the Vasse area and beyond.
We have a vision, to build a lighthouse in Vasse - but more than just a building to worship, it will be a Church that serves the local community 7 days a week.
It will be a building where the lost will know, without a doubt that his is where they come when they are broken. This is where they come when they are desperate and in need of a relationship because the way we love each other, the way we treat each other, the way we serve our community will create a light so bright, that nobody will be able to deny that Jesus is the answer to their question!!! We want to create a light so bright that it cannot be ignored.
Mission
To build a lighthouse in Vasse that can reflect the light of Christ to the whole South West while providing a home to God’s people where they can be devoted to; apostles teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer.
Purpose
To give glory to God by providing a place that facilitates growth, love and truth in God’s people and assisting to equip them to serve Jesus and advance God’s Kingdom. To have a place that can be the hands and feet of Jesus for our local community.
VALUES
We worship together
We are one unique body of believers and must have enough space to worship together in one place, at one time with our entire family (including kids).
The facility will be multi-purpose and used throughout the week.
We have 7 days to do ministry and to provide value for the community and thus we will look toward the needs we have now, and into the future and build something that will look to serve throughout the week as well as providing a place for Worship on Sunday.
We will be a part of the "new thing" that God is doing.
God is a Creator, and we will always seek to discern and follow the fresh direction He wants to bring. This building may be different from what a Church looks like in the Southwest, or WA. We will follow the Holy Spirit with how he directs us to build.
We will not limit the Provider, nor be controlled by the (perceived) lack of provision.
Our God is not limited by provision – If God is calling us to build it, we will believe that He can provide what is needed and we will walk in His plans to further His Kingdom.
We will not hide Christ.
The local community will know that the light comes from Jesus Christ, and thus there will be no mistaking that the head of our Church is Jesus Christ.
The building will contribute, not consume.
The church does not exist for us. We are the church, and we exist to represent Jesus to the world and thus the building will have missional avenues to serve our local community.
We want it to be a welcoming Church.
God is light and God welcomes us, we want our building to reflect these traits as well.
Provide a space that lives out our call to fellowship together.
The local community will know that the light comes from Jesus Christ, and thus there will be no mistaking that the head of our Church is Jesus Christ.
