Greetings…
We are continuing our series on “I Want To Go To Heaven” so that we can be with God for all of eternity.
As we explore our motivation for our desire to be in heaven with God forever.
Last week, we looked at God the Father: The Architect.
We should want to be with the Father for all of eternity because…
He designed our physical bodies, knows our struggles, and is there to help us overcome this life and reach the next with him.
He designed our spirit or life, and therefore knows how precious our life is to us.
He designed our soul, so that we could be with him for all of eternity because he wants us to be with him from everlasting to everlasting.
Today, we are going to look at another of person of the Godhead which is God the Son.
The Father is the architect and thus designer, hence he spoke and it was done (Psalm 33:6).
The Son is the actual builder or one who carried out the design of the Father as we will see today.
So with that in mind…

The bible does not mince its words when it comes to this reality, that that Jesus is the actual creator or builder of all things created.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him.
16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
10 And, “You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands”
The Father was the one “from who are all things” but it is Jesus “through whom we exist.”
6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.
2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
Interestingly enough this is further proof that Jesus was not created.
How can he who created all things be created?

Builder Of The Spiritual Bridge
Builder Of The Spiritual Bridge
When humanity was lured and enticed by his own desires and that desire conceived and gave birth to sin, it also brought forth spiritual death.
14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.
Why, because sin separates us from our God because of his holiness.
God is holy and to be near him we must be holy.
15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
14 Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
To be holy means to “stand apart or be distinct” from that which is unholy or spiritually filthy.
When we reach the age of accountability and sin (Romans 3:23) we become unholy or spiritual filthy.
4 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
6 We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
When we become unholy and spiritually filthy we are separated from God.
1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; 2 but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.
Thankfully, God the Son: The Builder, built a spiritual bridge between us and the Father.
God the Son built that bridge by sacrificing his perfect life to take on our sins.
4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
God the Son built the spiritual bridge with his blood.
9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace
5 and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood

Because Jesus Built All Of Creation

The Father knows us so well because he designed our physical bodies, but Jesus knows us so well not just because he built our physical bodies but because he had a physical body.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
Jesus is the only one of the Godhead to be tempted like us, yet he never sinned.
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
I want to go to heaven because Jesus built all of creation and knows what it means to have to deal with temptations in this life.
He understand my struggle and your struggle with temptation.
But more importantly than that “I want to go to heaven”…

Yes, Jesus was tempted but he was still perfect and never gave into such temptations.
Even when he suffered and was persecuted he never gave in.
But, even though he never sinned, he still gave his life to build the spiritual bridge between us and the Father.
25 who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification. 1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
