Seasons Spring summer fall winter My thought was, why do we need Texas summer, lol. I mean it can get hot. Why can't we just have Spring and Fall. So I looked it up The purpose of seasonal change is to ensure the Earth's climate is not constant allowing for a variety of weather patterns and life cycle adaptions Ecc. 3:1(nasb). There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven 1. Every Season Has a Purpose Ecclesiastes 3 tells us there's a time for every activity under heaven. This means no season in your life is wasted. 2. The joyful seasons-like a new job, a marriage, or a spiritual breakthrough-are gifts from God to strengthen your faith and fill you with gratitude 3. But what about the hard seasons? 4. The times of loss, waiting, or pain? Even those have purpose. 5. Romans 8:28 assures us, "In all things God works for the good of those who love him." 6. In the winter of your soul, God is pruning you, teaching you to rely on Him. In the spring, He's planting new dreams. Every season shapes you into the person God created you to be. Think of Joseph in Genesis. He endured seasons of betrayal, slavery, and imprisonment before rising to power in Egypt. Each season prepared him for God's greater plan. So, ask yourself: What is God teaching me in this season? Trust that He's at work, even when you can't see it. 2. Every Season Is Temporary Here's a word of hope: no season lasts forever. The laughter of today may give way to tears tomorrow, but those tears will not have the final word. Ecclesiastes lists opposites- birth and death, planting and uprooting, weeping and laughing-because life is always changing. If you're in a season of abundance, savor it, but hold it loosely. If you're in a season of struggle, take heart: this too shall pass. Jesus Himself endured the cross, knowing the joy of resurrection was coming Hebrews 12:2(nasb) 'fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. ' ~The temporary nature of seasons invites us to lean on God's unchanging nature. Malachi 3:6(nasb) "I the Lord do not change." When everything around you shifts, God remains your anchor. So, don't despair in the winter or grow complacent in the summer. Keep your eyes on the One who walks with you through every season. 3. Every Season Is Under God's Sovereignty Finally, know that God is in control of your seasons. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, "He has made everything beautiful in its time." God doesn't just allow seasons; He appoints them. The same God who spoke the stars into existence orchestrates the rhythms of your life. When you're in a season you don't understand, remember that God sees the bigger picture. His timing is perfect, even when it feels delayed or painful. Daniel 2:21'It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding. ' Consider the Israelites wandering in the desert for 40 years. That season of waiting tested their faith, but it led to the Promised Land. Or think of Jesus' ministry: He spent 30 years in obscurity before His public season began. God's timing is not ours, but it is always good. So, surrender to His plan. Pray as Jesus did in Gethsemane: "Not my will, but yours be done" (Luke 22:42). Application: Living Well in Your Season So, how do we live faithfully in whatever season we're in? * Embrace the season. * Don't fight it or rush through it. If it's a time to mourn, let yourself grieve. If it's a time to dance, celebrate fully. * * Seek God in the season. * Psalm 1:2-3(nasb) 'But his delight is in the law of the L ord , And in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. ' * * Stay rooted in prayer, Scripture, and worship. * * Encourage others in their season. Some of you are in spring; others are in winter. Walk together. Share your joys and bear one another's burdens (Galatians 6:2)nasb. 'Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. ' * Psalms 104:19(nabs) 'He made the moon for the seasons; The sun knows the place of its setting. ' Isaiah 43:19(nasb). 'Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert. '
