Hello Everyone!

Wellcome to our men’s bible study series! so these are designed to be short commitment studies, about 4-6 weeks, where will will dive into scripture, some times as a book study, like say the book of Jonah, other times on a particular topic… maybe fatherhood.

This one is on Discipleship. it will last 3 weeks, maybe a fourth if I can get someone in here cause I’ll be gone on the 30th.

While I hope to have time for general discussion, because we will be packing a lot of information into just a couple of hours, try to hold your questions until the end so we can get through as much content as possible.

What is Discipleship?

If you've been in church for longer than five minutes, you have heard the term discipleship. Often some times when something becomes common place, we might think we understand it, but we really don’t, we haven’t taken the time to actually evaluate the word and what it means in a scriptural context. We do this with lots of things, blue skies, bicycles, friction, these are all extremely complicated phenomena that we are super familiar with, yet we don’t really understand them and how they work. for most of discipleship is probably the same, we have a general understanding, but probably haven’t dug down to the roots of it.

This study is not going to break everything down, and give you all the answers. it’s more like an appetizer, or maybe just one of those free samples at Costco, just enough to make you go… hmmm I might want to get some of that. I’m going to try and point you at scripture and suggest some ideas I think you should evaluate and apply to your life, but be like the Berean’s and accept my teaching with eagerness, but go home and make sure its true! Acts 17:11.
