The Lamb and the Dragon
Saturday will be the 250th anniversary of our nation.
The United States of America was founded on Biblical principles. We are unique in that among all the nations of the world except Israel.
Founders quotes:
George Washington: You do well to wish to learn our arts and ways of life, and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ. These will make you a greater and happier people than you are.
John Adams: The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.
Noah Webster: The religion which has introduced civil liberty is the religion of Christ and His apostles… This is genuine Christianity and to this we owe our free constitutions of government.
During the war they had prayer before every session of congress, but during the constitutional convention they fell off that habit.
Benjamin Franklin actually moved that prayer be made every day:
In this situation of this Assembly, groping as it were in the dark to find political truth, and scarce able to distinguish it when presented to us, how has it happened, Sir, that we have not hitherto once thought of humbly applying to the Father of lights to illuminate our understandings?
In the beginning of the Contest with G. Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayer in this room for the divine protection. Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a Superintending providence in our favor.
To that kind providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? or do we imagine that we no longer need his assistance?
I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth — that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid?
We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that “except the Lord build the House they labor in vain that build it.” I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel:
We shall be divided by our little partial local interests; our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and bye word down to future ages. We are living under the blessing of that founding.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; And the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
Legend says there was an empty chair at the signing of the Declaration of Independence for Jesus to sit in.
There is not one speck of doubt in my mind but what the Son of God set at that table, when this nation was founded upon the principles of freedom of religion and freedom to all, and upon the basis of God’s Eternal Word. 60-0515M - "The Rejected King"
We have fallen far from those principles.
America is my country, I love it, but I don’t love the sins that it’s doing. God loves America, but He hates her sin; and sin is a reproach to any nation. And don’t think because our forefathers at Plymouth Rock founded this upon the principles that it did, that we escape judgment.

If God doesn’t judge America for her unrighteousness, as the infinite Holy God, He would be duty-bound to resurrect Sodom and Gomorrah and apologize for sinking them and burning them up. Certainly. We’re bound for judgment, there’s no way out of it. So, just get ready to escape the damnation of the wrath of God by fleeing to Jesus Christ. 58-0625 - "A Greater Than Solomon Is Here"
Our text, Revelation 13 speaks of two “beasts”.

θηρίον (thērion). n. neut. wild animal, beast. Typically this is used in the NT for wild animals and dangerous beasts.
A beast represents “power”.
Did you notice, the beast come up out of the sea, that was in Revelations, the 13th. And when you see the beast coming up out of the sea, is meant that this power was raising up among the people.
But in Revelations 13, when this lamb came up, he came up out of the earth, no people, United States. But then, after, he had two little horns, civil and ecclesiastical powers. And then he received power, and spoke like the dragon did before him.
So you just got to mark it down, we are coming into a religious persecution with the same things that they did in pagan Rome many years ago, for it’s THUS SAITH THE LORD. 58-0927 - "Why Are We Not A Denomination?"

Two horns
When, this nation appears in the 13th chapter of Revelation, this little animal raised up like a lamb. And it’s got two horns, civil and ecclesiastical power, but he done the same thing the beast did before him. 63-0319 - "The Second Seal"

The Roman Republic lasted 482 years, before they ever had an emperor.
She isn’t very old, Revelation 13 said this nation wouldn’t live very long, anyhow, you know that. The little lamb raised up, and never did become a ram like the rest of them, it died in its youth.
When the ecclesiastical power and civil powers met together with those two little horns of the ram then united church and state, and we’re almost doing it right now, it just depends on which way the wave blows when they have another election. And we’re almost at it right now, just let it go ahead.
You might think I’m a fanatic, but you write it down on a little piece of paper somewhere, and stick it away in your Bible, and watch one of these days, it’s coming, she might be right at the door. You better pray, you better get right with God, the hour is at hand! 60-0724 - "The Unchangeable Word Of God"
Dragon

17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
And, first, is a lamb; meekness, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and so forth; and then they receive power, and spoke with all the power the dragon had before him. What is it? What was the dragon? Rome.
See, had a mark, a image of the beast, to raise up against the real Church of God. Under them denominations, will plague this thing! But, when they start to do it: The Lamb shall take His Bride to be ever at His side, All the host of Heaven will assembled be; O, it will be a glorious sight, all the saints in spotless white; And with Jesus they shall feast Eternally. Amen! “Come and dine,” the Master calleth, “Come and dine.” (Amen!)

We are His body, that is why the beast is trying to kill us, just like it did Him.
She is His Body, the manifested Truth of His promised Word for the last days. And She, and She alone, stands by It. That’s why the devil is howling, these great organizations, to set up something to close Her up. They’ll never do it. She’ll be taken up, not closed up. She is now risen, and by the power of the vindicated Word promised to Her. Amen!
How a Bride holds that promise! “He told me He would return after me. I’ll believe it.” Uh-huh. See? Yes, sir. To meet Her Headship, Her Redeemer, Her Husband, Her King, Her Lord, Her Lover, Her Saviour, in the provided meeting place! 63-0728 - "Christ Is The Mystery Of God Revealed"
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
How does he get the people to follow him?
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
And he does great wonders, so to make him a fire come down out of heaven…(The atomic bomb, and hydrogen; smart, intelligent nation, and so forth, deceiving the nations by these things.) 54-0513 - "The Mark Of The Beast"

14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
The false church groups will come together in a world council of churches. This world council of churches is the IMAGE ERECTED TO THE BEAST. An Exposition Of The Seven Church Ages (10 - A Resume Of The Ages)
We will never call ourselves a Catholic nation but we will have an image of Catholicism, just like it with a different name.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
This is after we’re gone.
With this great power the church systems will persecute the true bride. This image will try to keep the bride from preaching and teaching, etcetera. Her ministers will be forbidden to give comfort and truth to the people who need it.
But before the antichrist (in person) takes over this complete world system of churches the true church will be taken away from this world to be with the Lord. God will catch away His bride for the great Marriage Supper of the Lamb. An Exposition Of The Seven Church Ages (10 - A Resume Of The Ages)
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
Now the lamb is speaking as a dragon.
What is the mark of the beast?
This mark in the head means that they will have to take the doctrine of the world church system which is trinitarianism, etcetera, and the mark in the hand which means to do the will of the world church. An Exposition Of The Seven Church Ages (10 - A Resume Of The Ages)
There is a mark of the beast and a seal of God. Cain and Abel were twins but one had the wrong father, he was marked.
Which, I will prove someday, if God will let me, that denomination is the mark of the beast. See, it’s the wrong father, he is stirring people to an organization instead of to the Word. 65-1031M - "Power Of Transformation"
What are you stirred to? Do you hunger for the world or for the word? If you hunger for the Word you will have the seal of God, if you hunger for the world you will take the mark of the beast.
Now, somebody said, “Now, there’s going to be a mark of the beast, it’s going to come some day.” Let me tell you. It’s already come. See? As soon as the Holy Ghost begin to fall, the mark of the beast begin to take place.
You only have two things. One of them, is, accept It, takes the Seal of God. To reject It, takes the mark of the beast. To reject the Seal of God is to take the mark of the beast.
Everybody understand? To reject the Seal of God is to take the mark of the beast. For, the Bible said, “All that was not sealed by the Seal of God took the mark of the beast.” 63-0630E - "Is Your Life Worthy Of The Gospel?"
11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
Now, the church has not recognized her day. Like Israel, forced back to Palestine, she is going to be forced into the World Council of Churches. Why? She didn’t recognize her hour. “People, come out of her, be not partakers of her sin!” Flee, your life, or you’ll be caught with the mark of the beast and can’t do nothing else about it.
“Let him that’s filthy be filthy still. Let him that’s holy,” not will be holy, “holy now. Let him that’s holy,” not a bobbed-haired woman; she can’t be. Now, that sounds very flat, but that’s the Scripture. The Bible says, “She dishonors her head,” and her head is her husband. His Head is Christ, so she dishonors Christ.
How can she be “dishonorable” and not be “filthy”? “Let she that’s got bobbed hair keep it. Let he, she that wears shorts keep on wearing them. Let he that denies the Word keep on denying It.”
“But let him that’s holy be holy still. Let him that’s righteous be righteous still; the righteous Word of God, the Son of God made manifest. Be holy still, righteous still!” 64-0726M - "Recognizing Your Day And Its Message"
We’ve seen those two horns unite together, civil and ecclesiastical power.
I believe, one of these glorious days, when this united confederation of church goes together, and the new pope is brought out of the United States and put over there according to prophecy, then they’ll form an image like unto the beast. And I tell you, the true Church of God will be drove together. 54-1219E - "Acts Of The Holy Spirit"
