Compassion Like Christ (Evangelism)

This sermon is about evangelism!!

Brother Kevin Fox gave an amazing talk Thursday night about our goal as christians is to conform to Gods image!!

1. We need the heart of Jesus in evangelism!!

Matthew 9:35–38 “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

A) Notice what Jesus has been doing!!

Went about ALL the cities and villages

Teaching

Healing every disease among the sick

This man was working tirelessly for the hurting

Application -

WE NEED TO BE COMFORMING TO THE WORK EFFORT OF JESUS HELPING THE SICK!!

If you’re a Christian or evangelist that’s been evangelizing for many years....… THANK YOU!!!!! - WE NOTICE YOU AND WE THANK YOU FOR LOVING GOD AND LOVING OTHERS TO PREACH TO YOU!

B) Look at what Jesus feels!

Moved with compassion!! - WHY??

They were like sheep having no shepherd!

The Man who created them now looks at them as having no shepherd

Application

I’ve heard some people say “I just need more motivation to evangelize

The problem usually is that we don’t love other people enough

Pray for God to help you love people’s soul more!! have more compassion like Jesus!!!

I need a favor from you all! - Pray for each other, that we all would love the lost more so we can feel that compassion like Jesus!!

C) Look at what Jesus says!!

D) Look at what Jesus actively DOES!!

Matt 10:1-15 Jesus appoints disciples, gives them what they need to succeed..… and sends them out to preach!!!

Jesus did not do nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Application - WE NEED TO BE A WORKER LIKE KING JESUS!!

IF A KING SERVED AS MUCH AS JESUS DID, HOW ABOUT US??

2. One way to grow in evangelism is to realizing that it’s our job to be evangelizing!

Matt 28:18-19 applies to all Disciples of Jesus!

Acts 8:3–4 “As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison. Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word.”

B) If Paul can evangelize we ALL can evangelize!! -

1 Corinthians 15:9–10 “For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”

You don’t have to be a preacher or a bible scholar to evangelize!

John 1:45–46 “Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.””

In Closing - To my friends and speakers..… and to the whole crowd here today, I am so excited to serve God with you all in the upcoming years!!
