13 But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever.
14 “The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.”
15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward.
16 “As for you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and the sons of Israel shall go through the midst of the sea on dry land.
Back story… escape from Egypt and they have been chased to a dead end at the Red Sea with no logical way out.
Have you ever felt that way?
13 But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever.
They were facing a real threat, a real problem.
But what did Moses tell the people?
The Egyptians you see today you will never see again forever…
What are the Egyptians in your life?
What are the things that press you against a no escape situation?
14 “The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.”
Some translations say just stay calm, just be still, and “You Will hold your Peace”
You may ask why Moses is being so stern in his words?
Just moments before in vs 12 they were saying….
12 “Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, ‘Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.”
Exodus (Commentary)
Yahweh needs no help and needs no further complaints, such as Israel has arrogantly uttered in fear and unbelief. These verses drive home the point that Israel did not save or deliver herself from Egypt; Yahweh alone performs his magnalia dei (mag-NAY-lee-uh DAY) or The magnificent work of God of rescuing his people.
How many times do we find ourselves complaining about anything and every thing, especially the work of God.
We end of praying “God your not listening to me…”
And God is telling us if we will just be quite long enough to hear Him, there is a way…
15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward.
When God speaks Move!
So many times we sit and we wait and we keep begging God to just speak to me, and yet we do ever pick up the Bible and read a thing unless its on Sunday…
If church is the only time you open your Bible, you are knocking on death’s door spiritually.
That would be like only eating a protein bar on a Sunday and not eating or drinking for the next 6 days.
It will destroy you from the inside out and lead to a slow death.

Look at the preciseness of God here,
God called Moses to obedience and He took care of the rest ,
even to the dry land so that they could pass with carts and on foot without sinking in mud.
They had no way out, their enemies thought they had them, BUT GOD!
