Mark of the Master

Opening Scripture

Ephesians 2:10 NIV

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

In the Roman world, master craftsmen (sculptors, potters, architects) were highly revered.

When a master sculptor finished a statue, or a painter finished a fresco, they would engrave their unique signature or stamp into the piece. This was known as the master's mark.

We are not saved by good works (v. 8–9).

We are saved for good works (v. 10).

God has hand crafted each person that is born into the world

With God’s design He has embedded within each of us gifts that are connected with our God given purpose.

When we chose to align our gifts with God’s plan the mark of the mast is put on full display.

The Father Knew You Before They Knew You…

Jeremiah 1:5 NIV

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Our Heavenly Father is strategic in all that He does.

The enemy in partnership with the world will try to make you feel or believe that you are a mistake — JUST KNOW That God doesn’t make mistakes!

From the moment that God thought of us He already knew the purpose that He had for us!

Because you are Appointed with purpose there will come spiritual warfare so as to distract you

Just know that when you go through some things its only because of your obedience to the Father and His purpose on your life!

With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility

1 Peter 4:10 NIV

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

God gives us spiritual gifts to serve the needs of others.

Some may have the gift to teach while others have the gift to preach

Some may have the gift to prophesy while others may have the gift to intercede

Whatever our gifting(s) are we should never allow ourselves to fall into the trap of coveting (wanting) someone else’s gift.

We should not allow ourselves to lust after someone else's purpose!

We should be content with what God has called us to — That is your Mission Field that has been custom built by God for you!!

Your Purpose Relates to Glory

Matthew 5:16 NIV

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Your deeds are referring to how you serve others — we serve others with our spiritual gifts

When we serve Jesus faithfully through serving others God will Always receive the glory

There are times where we become selfish and try to hide our gifts and by doing so we neglect to serve others faithfully.

There are times where we will be tempted to take the glory for ourselves — We MUST Always give ALL the Glory to God our Father!

Without God we have nothing — With God we have all that we need!

Your Next Steps

1. Ditch the "Mistake" Mindset

Cancel the negative internal narrative. When the enemy tries to tell you that you are a byproduct of your past, a failure, or an accident, remind yourself whose signature you carry.

2. Lock Into Your Custom Mission Field

Intentionally quit the comparison game. Stop looking at other people's lives, platforms, or giftings on social media and wishing they were yours.

3. Unwrap Your Tool

A gift does no good if it stays in the box. You have been given spiritual tools for the common good—it's time to find them and use them.

4. Expect the Pushback

Shift your perspective on hardship. When friction, distraction, or warfare hits you this week, don't view it as a sign that God has abandoned you. View it as confirmation that you are target territory for the enemy because of the purpose on your life.

5. Shift the Spotlight

Audit your motives. When you use your gifts to serve, make sure your goal is to make the Master famous, not yourself.
