If you have your copy of God’s word I would encourage you to join me in . When reading this passage there are many things we can see about evangelism. I want to take a look at this passage from to see what Jesus’ encounter with the woman at the well teaches us concerning evangelism. I mean who better to look at for an example than the one who commanded us to evangelize? Once again that is John chapter 4 verses 1-30. For those of you that have your copy of scripture. I will now begin to read God’s word.
Evangelism
Evangelism
When we hear the word evangelism we all often think of the same thing. Or something very similar. We might think of things such as;
Evangelicals, which as Southern Baptists we are all evangelicals, or we might think of evangelist who are people that go around and preach at big events and often preach the same sermon over and over again just at different places. I mean can you imagine being the wife of an evangelist? You would hear the same sermon and sermon series over and over again. I don’t mean anything against them they have a huge role in the will of God I’ve just always felt sorry for their wives. Or we just think of Evangelize, which is the sharing of the gospel.
Or we just think of Evangelize, which is the sharing of the gospel.
I want to take a minute though real quick and discuss what it truly means to evangelize. We get our word evangelize from the greek word εὐαγγέλιον which is the word we translate into Gospel. So we know that to evangelize is to share or to proclaim the gospel.
