You have an Assignment
Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Living life on purpose or on assignment changes the way you look at things. It changes the way you look at your life. It will even change the way you interact with people every day.
The world focuses on success as being how much stuff you can accumulate and how high you can climb on the ladder. And it all leaves you unsatisfied and unfulfilled in the end if you do not recognize your purpose and assignment from God.
When you live life with the mindset of having an assignment, the place you work is no longer just a job, it is an assignment. Before, you might get frustrated, saying they do not pay you what you are worth. Now you realize they could never pay you what you are worth and no company could ever pay you what you are worth. God set your value so high he sent His only son to die for you. How could any business ever pay you what you are worth?
Once you realize the assignment, you no longer look at the job as your source. You recognize God as your source and realize you do not live off of what they are paying you. You live off of God.
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Now you can see that your paycheck is not your source. It is a resource that God has given you. But He remains your source.
Now you can go to work or school or wherever and realize that God has sent you there as the salt and light. And when you look at every day as an assignment from God, you go to work or school or the marketplace and you are looking for the opportunity to spread the salt and light to whoever might need it. You go and come into contact with the person who has just been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and who you might never see at church. You go and lay hands on her and pray over her and tell the cancer it has to go in the name of Jesus.
Somewhere along the way we got to the place where we thought all of the miracles were supposed to happen in here. This is the place you come to get filled up and equipped so that you can go out there and be the light in a dark world and see miracles happen there. You go pour out all week and then come back and get filled up again. That is why it is so important to gather together and to come to church whenever you can.
This world will drain you dry. You will start to run on empty. You will have nothing left to pour if you do not come and get filled back up and recharged so that you can go back out and pour out some more.

Angels around the throne crying, “Holy, Holy, Holy.”
You were not created to be like everyone else. You were never meant to just blend in to your surroundings.
The price of embracing your uniqueness is A-L-O-N-E. Most people never want to experience that so they never reach their full potential.
We want to be accepted so much that we will compromise our uniqueness just to be accepted by others. But God did not create you to just blend in.
One of the most difficult things I have ever done was to follow God and leave a flourishing church of people that I loved being around and my pastor who I love and honor deeply to start a church having no clue if anyone would ever even show up.
It is easy when God tells you to leave something bad to go to something good. But when he tells you to leave something good and you have no idea what comes next, that is hard.
There have been multiple times when I have thought maybe I heard God wrong. There were times when I thought, well, this just is not working. It is not growing. We are stuck in this gym and there is no way we can afford to purchase a building. There were Sundays when nobody came and I still had to pay the rent for that week. That was hard.
But God is faithful to His Word!!!
God did not tell us to plant a church in Lee County to be like the 100 other churches in Lee County. Why would he do that? But, embracing how we will be different can be a lonely season as God grows us into what He wants us to become.
There are methods and strategies for church growth all over the internet if you are willing to compromise and be like everyone else and just be seeker sensitive and make sure your services are curated just right and you have your songs and three points and a poem.
But to do that would mean to compromise who I am and who we are. It is easy to just have “pretty church.” But we were sent here to be different.
Wherever God has sent you, whether it is work, college, high school, marketplace, you are called to be the salt of the earth. You are call to be different enough from it to effect it.
“I don’t like my job.” Salt
“There is a lot of bad stuff at my school.” Salt
“I wish I just worked around more Christians.” Salt in the Salt?
God did not put you there to be like it or to become it. He put you there to make a difference in it. He put you there to be the salt that effects it. You cannot effect it if you are it!!
Don’t let your environment change you!!!! You change your environment!!!!
Ordained - purpose, assignment
Assignment - the enemy will start an all out war to stop the assignment of one individual.
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?”
So Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”
Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”
Going to and fro - rove about, gathering manna, besmear
He spends his time gathering information to take to God to try to say why you should be disqualified from your assignment. He brings up every mistake, every failure, every time you have done or said something wrong. He stands before God and accuses you.
Satan is the accuser of the brethren. He stands day and night before God and accuses you of being unworthy.
But the Blood of Jesus testifies on your behalf. The Bible says Jesus has cast down the accuser.
MOSES - Pharoah said kill every child born
JESUS - Herod said kill every male child 3 years and under
Satan will start a war to keep you out of your assignment but God will do the same thing to keep you in.
JONAH - thought he could run from God. God said, “I will sink the whole ship. You are going where I said you are going!!”
IT IS NOT ABOUT YOU IT IS ABOUT YOUR ASSIGNMENT!!!!
Some of you the enemy knows your assignment and you don’t and that is why you live in constant defeat.
PRAISE AND WORSHIP is our time to wage war on the enemy!!! That is why you should not stay silent during worship. Take that time to shout unto God!!! Let the enemy know that everything he did to try to stop you this week only made you more determined to fight back.
Shout, run around the room, fall in the floor, do whatever it takes but just fight!!!!!
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
This whole thing is rigged from the beginning!!!!!
Foreknew - counsels of God - you were made here but created in Christ before God said let there be light. The lamb was not a plan B - Acts of God completed - lamb slain, we were in the lamb
Predestined - end before beginning - days are numbered - can write the last chapter first, it will all fit in the book
Called - snapshots - David with the sheep and slingshot
Justified - Enemy comes with every mistake but Jesus justifies you and clears all the charges
Glorified - Living in the assignment
