“Keep Your Heart Ever Loyal”

BIG IDEA: God sees into our heart to see our faithfulness to Him and our spouse.

  • (1) Lust is the liar of faithful monogamy. Vs.27-30
    • Adultery is the action of the heart. Vs.27-28
    • Our eyes are not the problem, our heart is. Vs.29-30
  • (2) Fidelity to the Bridegroom and your spouse is an issue of faithfulness to God.
    • Is God glorified by your total faithfulness to His Word and your spouse?
    • Is your spouse benefiting from your obedience to God’s Word: spiritually, emotionally, and physically?
  • (3) Divorce displeases God.
    • Divorce tells a different story than the covenant of salvation.
    • Divorce displeases God because it is hard on families.
  • (4) Remarriage should not be taken lightly.
    • Remarriage can be a blessing or a burden.
    • All remarriage is not sinful.
  • (5) Jesus does not demean, disown, or divorce His bride.
    • Divorce should be the last resort if ongoing reconciliation fails because repentance is danced around.
    • Build up your spouse with your eyes, ears, mouth, and heart.
